G Jamal Crawford (sprained ankle) is questionable for tonight while Jerome Williams (sprained foot) underwent an MRI yesterday and may not suit up.

The NY post coming up with the obvious. Does anyone (other team's starting center or big men) really need or want Shaq in town? I think the Heat are going to take this one.

Knicks-Heat Quiz: If You Have Two Bad Teams, and One Gets Better...

The Miami Heat - a former Knicks rival, now playing in another stratosphere - visits Madison Square Garden tonight.

Riley was still coaching Miami when the Knicks eliminated the Heat in three straight postseasons. It could be some time before they meet again in the playoffs. But it would seem that Riley has had the last laugh.

If the Knicks had maintained the intensity for a little while longer against he Kings and the Suns, and if Marbury had hit his foul shots against the Heat, you could have been on a four-game winning streak. Think of it.

Recap: Knicks Wilt in the Heat
Quote:
Stephon Marbury's inability to back up his claim as the best point guard in the NBA enabled the Miami Heat to improve on the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Marbury missed four of his final seven free throws and failed to direct the offense in the final minute of regulation, allowing the Heat to post a 116-110 overtime triumph over the New York Knicks.
After declaring himself "the best point guard in the NBA" in late December, Marbury was not chosen as an All-Star reserve Tuesday. Since his proclamation, the Knicks have dropped 17 of 20, falling to last in the Atlantic Division.
New York was 16-13 at the time of Marbury's statement but has lost 17 of 20 since, including a handful of close games due to lack of execution.
"It's hard to win games with (missed) free throws and turnovers," Marbury said. "We just have to continue to get better as a team and execute at the end of games. We just haven't been doing it. There's no explanation for it."
Marbury missed a season-high six free throws on 15 attempts. New York has shot 68 percent (79-of-116) from the line over its last four games.
In this one, Marbury scored 36 points, topping 30 points for the fourth straight game and falling one point shy of his season high. But he missed a critical free throw with 52 seconds to go and failed to run the offense effectively in the waning moments, resulting in a shot clock violation with two seconds remaining in regulation.

This streak has shown the Knicks can play some good ball and are just a few players short. Maybe more experience for Ariza will help, but I think the big thing is to get some stability at this point. Everytime they have a report come up to them, it's about a new coach, new position, new rotation, new trade rumor...
