Any chance K. Thomas gonna be shipped?

I've read myself and posted that Isiah is not going to the All-Star game where alot of GMs will be working on trades, but will Isiah ship Kurt out of town? There are going to be a ton of GM looking to improve front court depth.

Cuban has the pockets to absorb the trade, and I recall reading he is a big fan of Thomas'.

Re: Any chance K. Thomas gonna be shipped?

I would think KT is a goner for various reasons...

1) It doesnt look like we are going to make the playoffs,so why not develop the youth and find out what kind of player Sweeteny really is...KT is not leading us to the promised land, though he would be a great backup

2) If the rumors are true that he and Steph almost got into it,you know Starbury is gonna run him out of town...

3) He is one of our 3 long term contracts along with JYD and JC that will affect future cap space.Do we really want a 37 y.o KT?????

4) see 2

Re: Any chance K. Thomas gonna be shipped?

what can we get for him though? we know that don nelson loves kurt, and the rockets are interested, but i dont see who we could get in a kurt trade...i doubt he gets traded

and truth if we wanna help develop sweetney, why not move kurt to center? Nazr is terrible and only is an inch taller then kurt. neither are shot blockers so we dont lose anything, we would probably gain cause kurts jumpshooting opens up the paint for sweetneys post game. at this point, id rather trade nazr cause his stock is high, and he sucks bad.

Re: Any chance K. Thomas gonna be shipped?

penny,i agree that kt should be playing the 5,but i think Naz's play and injurys of late has hut his trade value...

i think the most important thing is to play sweets, and lets take a long hard look at j.c at the point and marbury at the 2

The whole team is on the block except for the two players we wish were on the block: Marbury and Crawford.

I think anyone signed beyond 2005 should be on the block. Rebuild and try and get under the cap. Trade for expiring contracts and finish out the season. Get draft picks, pray for the lottery and make a run at LeBron for 2006-07.

Nevermind that he'll be a restricted FA and is almost certainly a lock to re-sign for the maximum amount before he ever even becomes a free agent.

Re: Any chance K. Thomas gonna be shipped?

KURT-AIN MIGHT FALL ON THOMAS

Quote:
Kurt Thomas, 32, happens to be one of the few pawns — for a team looking for a final veteran piece to a championship puzzle. It's hard for Isiah to match up salary for a young player. The Knicks would have to take back another big contract — and don't want to.
Quote:
Kurt Thomas doesn't understand why he'd be moved in the name of youth. "I still consider myself a young player," he said. "I still feel I'm in the prime of my career with a lot of years left."

Kurt will definitly be traded, just not this deadline unless a team like the spurs comes in and offer a rose/1st rounder type deal. i myself wouldent want to trade kurt for the 30th pick of the draft, i would love for him to be traded for the 15th-20th pick to a team that needs 1 player for a playoff run.

Agreed. Late picks often hurt teams more than they help. It's locking yourself into a 3 year contract for a player that may not help much. And Thomas has more value then that.
