Ward retires; joins Rockets as Ast. Coach.
Quote:
"There were no tearful news conference, no long farewell. But Charlie Ward confirmed Tuesday that his playing career is over. "It's a transition from playing to coaching, but I still get an opportunity to be around the guys and be able to impart wisdom," said Ward, who began working as a Rockets assistant coach Tuesday. "I could have tried it, but it's a good career move."

Wow, I didn't see that coming, but when they got Rafer I should have known Ward's minutes would have been cut back tremendously. It seems to me the old 90's to early 2000 Knick crew wants to become coaches. Ward, Ewing, Starks, Mark Jackson, and don't be surprise Houston. Good luck to Ward, too bad he never got the chance to play in the NFL.

Trading for Rafer didn't mean less minutes, they traded for Rafer due to Sura needing surgery again. There was and still is minutes to go around with James gone now.
