we need a REal point guard, and eventually telfair will become better than marbury, and Weneed a small forward, plus a guy who can really give us an offensive spark, so technically it helps the knicks

how it helps portland, is that, we give them a small forward in return in which he can play power or small, and they get, well, marbury

We need a veteran point guard; a leader. Telfair isn't going to be the vocal guy directing the team and giving people advice which we need out of a pg and a leader. Miles would be another risk that (high risk, high reward) so i dunno if i'd be will to trade for him (we have enough "works in progress" as it is). Ratliff would be a big plus for us w/rebounding and shot-blocking. But why give away Marbury when he's our best scorer? Who would pick up the scoring load if he left? Darius Miles? Crawford? Frye is our second most consistent scorer. Crawford hasn't really proven that he can replace Steph terms of scoring consistently and drawing fouls (Staph attempted 123fts this yr vs JC's 71). If we trade Steph we should definately look for someone who can replace his scoring.
