Steph vs. AI: The age old comparison (NYK fans opinions)

Alright so I realize that I am most definately not the 1st nor will I be the last to compare these 2, but I wanted to take it from a relatively different direction. Bare with me for a minute..

Two of my boys are queens raised diehard knicks guys. I personally am a Sixers guy with respect for the Knicks . I always like giving these two **** b/c of the div. rivilary. They swear on all that is holy in basketball that Marbury is the superior player of the two. I disagree and am constantly calling them homers just to **** with em. They feel that Marbury's game is eqaul in all aspects and the facts that steph takes limited shots and lacks minutes are the only reason Marbury is shuned in most conversations comparing the two. I'm unable to be objective on the matter b/c I'm such an AI fan.

My question to you NY guys (and only NY guys) is do the majority of you all feel similarly about Marb as my boys? Is there overwhelming agreement or do any of you feel differently?

Re: Steph vs. AI: The age old comparison (NYK fans opinions)

Iverson is a MUCH better team leader. The only advantages I could see Marbury having is age and height. CERTAINLY not toughness. But hey this is from a guy who thinks we would be lucky to trade Marbury to Portland for Telfair Patterson and Pryzbilla

Basically I couldn't agree more that AI is the far superior player, I was just trying to figure out if favortism for your own hometown guy had most of you guys thinking along the lines that my boys were thinking. Thanks again for the responses.

AI...hands down

I admit that I was a little put off by his hiphop style (What can I say, I'm an old white guy...that stuff was totally alien to me) but I have grown to really appreciate the man. His is pound for pound, the toughest player I have ever seen. Very, very clutch....unlike Steph, who almost always comes up weak at the end....including FTs. Marbury is able to absorb more punishment due to his size, but thats it.
