AD The Only Knick To Show Toughness Against Spurs
Quote:
That is exactly what Davis did in the third quarter when he threw his body - mostly an elbow - into Tony Parker's chest when the Spurs' talented point guard drove to the basket.
The Spurs didn't appreciate it, particularly Tim Duncan and Michael Finley, but it was a welcome sight for anyone who remembers the days when Charles Oakley established a "no layups rule." "I got tired because every time I turned around this guy was in the paint coming at me," Davis said. "It was bad enough I had to deal with Tim Duncan. I just snapped because I saw him coming. I went to stop him and I went to his body. I wasn't trying to hurt the guy. I was just trying to stop him from coming into the paint."
Even Brown admitted he needs more of his veterans to show the toughness and pride that Davis displayed.
