Woods Will Survive Jan 10, 2006 Deadline

Quote:
According to Brown, Qyntel Woods will survive the Jan. 10 deadline when his contract becomes guaranteed. Woods has beaten out Trevor Ariza as backup SF to David Lee.

If Woods didn't pan out, the Knicks planned on cutting him and signing a player to a 10-day contract. "I'm not worried about the January deadline," Brown said. "I thought that was a great pickup to get a first-round kid in the draft that athletic and still that young. Hopefully he'll be around for a long time."

I hope Ariza and James gets shipped. But based on Zeke's history, we'd probably get worse high contract players.

Riza is a sick defender. QUICK QUESTION? Why the heck is Lee starting at SMALL FORWARD? isnt he a PF?

If the Knicks are winning, I don't care if they started Lee at point guard. And I don't know if you've watched him play, but Ariza is a pretty bad player. Lee is a 1000x better ballhandler than Ariza. Why are you complaining when the Knicks are WINNING? BTW, Lee is a far better defender. He can defend the perimeter as well as the post. Also, Lee is not a offensive liability like Ariza.

I agree chris, if you going to insert Ariza in the starting lineup you can for defensive purposes just as long as we win. Lee is a better player and the fact that Ariza played only 1 year of college ball is showing right now. Ariza isn't that talented and that's a sad statement because I had so much expectations from him. He just needs to work hard in practice and in the off-season to play catch up. I wouldn't bury Ariza on the bench completely, but I would give him defensive assignments on tough opponents. Woods isn't that bad either and he actually played defense against the Wizards last night, which is foreign to him from what I heard on the Blazers forum.
