I'm going out on a limb here...
...but I must say, Channing Frye is overrated.
If they can dangle him and land an ACTUAL impact player, by all means, do so.
Just my honest opinion.

Everyone is allowed to have thier own opinions, but I disagree for the most part. I dont think Frye is playing like he could be because I dont feel LB has really played him right. LB has taken a lot of his confidence away from him in my opinion.

I'm a have to go with Tru on this one Tragedy. He was playing some great basketball in the beginning of the season, and then hit the rookie wall. There is a reason for this, fatigue because he isn't used to such a strenuous NBA schedule. LB's switching up the lineup that may cause him to lose confidence. Lastly the things he has seen and heard from some of the overpaid bums on this team does nothing but bring negativity around him. Hopefully this atmosphere won't be around next season, so we can see what he is really made of.

Re: I'm going out on a limb here...
What I didn't like is that I didn't see him doing anything with the ball, anything that you see young bigs that develop into stars do.
Most of his scoring comes from assisted shots, and putbacks and other hustle points.
When he did get the basketball in positions where he could try to put the ball on the floor and do something, he seemed too apprehensive for me, and gave the ball up.
Maybe it could just be caused by the teams shoddy play, but I didn't see anything that showed me he could be more than just an nba quality starter.
He doesn't seem as untouchable as advertised.

Re: I'm going out on a limb here...
That would suck for Marbury if we traded Frye and he blossomed into a star. I dunno how many times we've seen that happen with players after Steph and a youngin have split up. BTW i'm just playing devils advocate i dunno whether i agree that Steph doesnt make teammates better. But there are players like Amare, Joe Johnson, KMart, and other guys that have blossomed into stars after parting with Starbury. What do you guys think Frye is capable of in relation to which players/coach he might have w/him? To address the thing someone said about Frye not doing anything w/the ball, thats definately not true. I've seen Channing hit turn around Js, backboard Tim Duncan shots, hook-shots. Just cuz he doesnt have the flair and handles that some forwards have nowadays doesnt mean he doesnt have enormous potential. On the Knicks we havent given Frye a very big responsibility on offense so we shouldnt expect more from him than he's capable of given that he rarely gets the ball at the spots where he's comfortable and doesnt take enough shots when he does.

Seriously, Channing probably gets his self-esteem lowered by being surrounded by cocky son's of *****es like marbury, jamal, eddy, and stupid son's of *****es like jerome james. and chinatown, if you haven't noticed, stephon's not the type of players that make everyone else around him better.

Re: I'm going out on a limb here...
Forget self-esteem man he never gets the ball as much as he should get it. Marbury can make teammates better but his judgement (like who to pass to and who not to pass to) is pretty weak. He should never feed Malik Rose on offense whereas he should obviously feed Channing. Seriously Gotham did you miss all the games where Steph completely sets the tempo, gets the ball to ppl where there comfortable and gets like 10+ assists? (Memphis game?) Steph can make ppl better but he has to think a little about who he's passing to. Trust me, i doubt self-esteem is the issue considering that at the beginning of the year he was practically averaging 20point games.

Re: I'm going out on a limb here...
I'm also taking into account all the years he's been in the league, having always been just a stat whore. If you look at all his previous seasons he's always been a 20 and 8 guy (and that ain't even good), except this year. He's never the pass first score later guy along with the talent he's always been surrounded by, he's never made anybody better i.e. Amare, K.G., Jayson Williams (who got the worst of him), and now Channing. Instead of making others better, he suppresses them into showing their true talent.
