"Starting Lineup w/ the Most Potential"

I got this topic from another message board but I'm curious to know what would be the best way to utilize our existing roster in terms of our starting lineup, rotation, etc.

Re: "Starting Lineup w/ the Most Potential"

I'm a big believer in balance and chemistry . and you do that by putting in guys who compliment each other, putting in guys who cover each other's weaknesses and add to their strengths and the knicks really do have the talent to do this .

you have to have at least 2 guys on the court who do the little things that get you extra possesions (off. rebounds , diving for loose balls, steals, blocks, taking charges etc.) at least 2 guys who can really put the ball in the basket .

last season's knicks would at times have 5 scorers on the floor at the same time, 5 guys who needed the ball to be useful and the usual result was the knicks worrying about getting their hands on the ball and no one playing defense.

they let guys make decisions who make bad choices(curry, mo taylor, even malik got way too much time handling the ball, considering that he isn't even a good scorer) and took the ball out of the hands of guys who were really very good at handling the ball and passing(marbury,JC).and before this turns into a diatribe of how bad a job larry brown did last season .i'll just answer the thread question.

starters
curry
frye
jared jeffries
steve francis
stephon marbury

in the starters you have some good defensive balance in that marbury when he wants to is actually a good defender very good in fact I am assuming under his mentor he will play hard on defense. frye i expect to show some real progress defensively as most 2nd year guys do as they have had a year to learn the league and adjust. jeffries is a good defender and all around hustle guy, francis is a bad defensive player at pg but a decent one at shooting guard and he is a better scorer when he plays 2 guard as well so hopefully he can adjust to being a 2 on a more than a part time basis if not richardson might wind up being the better choice because he proved last season he can dedicate himself to playing good defense. reboundingwise francis is an excellent rebounder and jeffries is pretty good last year jeffries curry and frye all avg. 2 off. boards a game, this group should be able to hold their own on the boards.

Re: "Starting Lineup w/ the Most Potential"

I agree with Da Grinch. That would be my starting lineup too. I could actually see even starting Q for his defense and rebounding at the two, but not while Francis and Crawford are there obviously.
