OT:Chris webber wants out of philly
http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archiv...out_of_philly/
Im not sure if this is accurate, but this is a good opening for us. Chris can give us the size, leadership and boards we need to get. He provides us offense and defense under the rim and can help the young ones out.
i was thinking to the lines of..
Malik Rose, Jerome James and steve francis for Chris Webber and someone else.

No way....
He is not wanted nor needed. All he would do is steal time from our young PFs who need to play. We have no present but we do have a nice future.

Re: OT:Chris webber wants out of philly
Isiah might be dumb..but he's not dumb enough to take a 20 mill player who slow, unathletic and shooting 35% from the field he also doesn't play defense....

Didn't you get enough of wanting Darius Miles? Let's stop please and leave these guys alone, hopefully Isiah does not show any interest in C-Webb. We have kids on this squad let them play!

Webber = Old and bad knees.
You don't want a guy like that. Yeah, he can bring some leadership, and on any given night, give you 20 + points, but his age and health isn't worth it. Oh, yeah, 20 mil isn't going to help the Knicks. Need I remind you, this team needs to still dump salary?

Francis and Iverson in the backcourt is the stupidest idea since Francis and Marbury in the backcourt.

Ok. Maybe i was wrong about Miles, but i dont think chris webber would be as a bad idea many would think. of course these rookies will play more than Cwebb, hes just the guy i think would help this team a little.

Re: OT:Chris webber wants out of philly
I could see a report a month from now saying Webber is out for the season.

Well to be fair, that was after Stern changed the league policy on carrying weapons and KG could no longer distract Zach with his pump, uzi and couple M-16s.

Re: OT:Chris webber wants out of philly
actually, a three team trade makes sense...
ny trade francis to cavs and malik rose to philadelphia
philadelphia trade webber to ny
cleveland trade eric snow to ny, donyell marshall and ira newble to philadelphia
why? even if webber sits out, the rookies will keep playing. And in next season I can see Isiah waiving his expiring contract, like he did with Jalen and Mo Taylor... So, it's not a big lose... Because Webber, when playing, can help a little at least. and without playing, will be like Malik Rose... And Snow can guard SG's because he is strong and a good defender, and can share the ball in offense while Marbs and Nate play the SG role in offense. It worked with Larry brown and Iverson in Philadelphia, and can work (at least WAY BETTER than francis and marbury) in NY also.

no.no.no
Don't need either one. We have 4 guards playing now, with Collins learning while watching. Malik is worth more than Weber to us because of his defense and leadership. Just because a trade CAN be done doesn't mean it SHOULD be.

I think that is both cases... It help clearing some cap after next season, for sure... And even without the "veteran leadership" (go ask Rawse and Grizz fans if they like Eddie Jones), Webber is much, much and much better overall than Malik Rose, with NO DOUBT!
