OT Rumor: Amare Stoudemire On The Training Block

Quote:
There are rumors that Phoenix center Amare Stoudemire could be on the block because chemistry problems were mentioned when the Suns lost to San Antonio. Stoudemire is a risky proposition, though, since he's had microfracture knee surgery.

I guess the Suns change their mind about "The Matrix" and is looking to dump Amare. He also blew off an offseason meeting so that may have contributed to the trade rumors as well. I wonder if Isiah would try to make a phone call, once again...the Suns owe us one for the Steph deal. LOL

Re: OT Rumor: Amare Stoudemire On The Training Block

not surprised, without him they were only 1 game away from the finals last year. Not going to the offseason meeting is not good, especially when you're 1 year into a max contract which sonn after you signed you figured out you neede big time knee surgery....................i dont think "dump" is the right word. THere's no way they trade him without getting something big back.,,,,maybe the knicks can offer unprotected first rounders for the next decade.

Terrible idea, and I hope you were just being sarcastic.

Two quality players in return?

What the hell is this guy that is worth that much? Would you care to recap his game for me? Good, not great rebounder. Great finisher. Very good shot-blocker. Mediocre shooter. Nice support piece, not a centerpiece. Questionable wheels, longterm. We don't need what he offers offensively, Lee is a better rebounder, and the price is too high for his blocking ability.

Re: OT Rumor: Amare Stoudemire On The Training Block

If the Knicks could get Amare. We'll lets just say we'd be waking up in a few hours from a good night's rest.

Alpha, amare is an impact player. His rebounding is MUCH better, he's an incredible offensive player, and I think if a team would focus more around him than the Suns do, they can be successful with him as the centerpiece.

Especially being in the east? What team in the Atlantic has a player who can compete with him? In the whole eastern conference there's who? Dwight Howard?

If the Knicks somehow had a stroke of luck (I don't think he's gonna be traded) and got him, then we'd have to find a way to get Curry out of here. Amare is a player who works on his game, I have no doubt that he'd work on his defensive game which isn't that bad. he just plays on a team which doesn't make defense a priority.

But that's if the Knicks were that lucky. I'd take him at his age with that microfracture surgery. I don't think he'll feel the effects of that for a while.

But this is a big IF, and I'm only entertaining it for sake of discussion.

Re: Two quality players in return?

are you serious?

the guy just came off of microfracture surgery and made all NBA 1st team. He's a 24 year old big man. with big game experience. if it wasn't for the loaded west he wouldve been an NBA champion already.

if you think he's just a fine complementary player i dont know what to tell you really. I'll just leave you on your bad trip

also i never said the knicks should get him nor do i think they could if they wanted too. though i would gladly have him on my team

What are you basing it on?

Your recollection from watching? I admit he is a flamboyant player. Everything he does, he does with style and impact. However, he is only a decent rebounder considering the number of chances playing the Suns style gives him. And his point total is exaggerated for the same reason. He gets something like 40% of his points in the first 10 seconds of the shot clock. You actually see that happening in NY? He also gets 20% of his FGs via the dunk. Kinda supports the theory that his offensive game is limited. Looks as though he gets more than 1/3 of his points running with Nash et al. Put Lee with the Suns and he'll get 16-20 a game without ever taking a jumpshot and 12+ rebounds. Amare's numbers are largely a result of the system he plays in. BTW, micro fracture problems are nothing to take lightly. Once they start, they generally get worse, not better. Having a players game rely mostly on his wheels is a nightmare with these kinds of problems.

Show me a Knick fan that wouldn't love the ideal of Amare playing for the Knicks and I will show you a Knick fan who doesn't want to win.
