OT: Central Park Advice
Hey Guys,
I'm from Colombia and I will be arriving at NY on June 13th. I would like to know a few thing, since it is the first time I will visit your country.
First: I arrive at 8am to JFK, I need to go to 224 East 47th St.New York, NY 10017. What is your advice in what transport use from the airport to mi hostal.
Second: As soon as I unload my pack, I'll go to the NBA store that is near, isnt it? after that I want to find a place to buy a frisbee for Ultimate (it is a quite good sport) of 175 gr. Do you know any place near there to buy one.
Thank you in advance!

A cab to East 47th might cost you about $50. I would have recommended taking the subway but you probably will have alot of luggage with you to do so, especially during rush hour. A cab might be the best way to go.
The NBA store is near where your staying but on the West side of 44th street not the East side. You can take the shuttle train at 42nd and Grand Central to 42nd and Time Square where ESPN Zone and I believe the NBA store is. If all else goes wrong, google the information or use mapquest. Good luck and welcome to New York.

Hi fry
You can take a cab, but it will run you a pretty penny, I don't want you to get lost and have all that luggage with you on the train you can explore once you get your bearings.
The NBA Store is located on E.52nd street between 5th and 6th ave. You can take the D, B, F train to 50th...or the E or V and get off at 53rd Street...or just hail a cab once you get settled at your hotel.

get to the hotel, hit the subways, buy a weekly metrocard or however long you're around. Honestly, take a map and its almost impossible to get lost, there are signs everywhere.

the best way to your hotel is taking the A train from JFK to 34th or 42nd street and transferring to the E train to 51st street on lexington ave. , from there you can just walk south about 4 blocks or catch a southtown bus for the short trip to 47th .
as knickstorm said get a metrocard, it is important.and a bus and subway map.
also the nba store is on 52nd street and 5th ave. the only place i can think of to get a frisbee is modells they have 2 on 42nd street one on the east side 51 e.42 nd and 1 on the west side at 234 west 42nd street they should have them there.
hope you have a great time.

Bring Money lots of MONEY, this is the Big Apple where people come to spend Mo-Money & Mo-Money like the New York natives.
If you can afford to stay on the East Side of 47 st. by the water, than you could afford to take a cab from Kenedy Airport, if you have more than one bag of luggage.
The A Train to West 50th st. would be more exciting for you if u only had one bag of luggage, even the Cab ride from West 50th st. to East 47 th st. would give you a clarity of direction so you could walk to the NBA Store.
The majority of native New Yorkers walk around midtown Manhattan from 34th ST. to 59th st..
The City is easy to get around without getting lost, because its all "NUMBERS" from Downtown, Midtown, and Uptown, with a East side and a West side.
I'll let you figure out the North and South of the City by yourself. The higher the numbers is ???
