Comeback craze adds ex-Knick Houston
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baske...n_N.htm?csp=34
Quote:
Allan Houston says he believed in his heart that his career wasn't over when he retired two years ago because of knee problems.
Now he says his heart and body are on the same page and the former New York Knicks captain is ready for a comeback.
"I'm going to give it a shot," said Houston, whose foundation on Sunday will sponsor a Father Knows Best Retreat, a faith-based event in Harlem designed to strengthen father-son and mentor-mentee relationships. "I'm working out every day. I just have to figure out where it's going to be. In my heart I always felt it wasn't over. As I started working out, I felt my body was catching up with my heart."
Houston, 36, is among of trio of All-Star guards on the comeback trail. Reggie Miller, who turns 42 Friday, has spoken to the Boston Celtics about playing with them, and Penny Hardaway, 36, signed with the Miami Heat.
Houston said playing for the Knicks isn't out of the question and that two teams have contacted him. The 6-6 guard said that while several teams, including Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit and Miami are going to be good, going to a good team doesn't guarantee a title.
"I want to be in a good situation where you have a lot to offer a team," Houston said. "I'd love to be on a championship team. But … you want to have some kind of a role, help make the team better and have a chance to win."

We all got love for H20, but honestly, I don't think we have room for him anymore. We're loading up on some youth potions right now, I don't think H20 would even consider playing for us right now. He wouldn't get the time and I don't want to play Russian Roulette with his knees. I wish he could go to a club like Detroit though, go back to where he came from. Detroit is in dire need of some bench firepower, he'd definitely be useful over there. Not to sound mean or anything, I would just love to see him play for Detroit again, see him stroke that sweet jumper

You guys know I'm a big H20 fan, and I'll be highly disappointed if he is in another NBA uniform other than his original...Detriot and NY. If he signs with the Bulls or the Heat, I'll puke. So I'm rooting for him to make a return with the Pistons than any other team, because we don't have room for him here.
