Mr. Large and In Charge

Since 2000, I've always been one to defend the Knick's team owner. From what I recall, people have always been overly critical of him due to his willingness to spend big money in an otherwise "losing effort." I personally respected that willingness because I felt it expressed a genuine effort, on his behalf, to improve the Knicks and get them back on track.

After being drawn more and more into the Anuncha Brown scandal, I have to say that that opinion of him as being a competent owner has changed dramatically. His most recent interview gives off the impression of a guy that has been blessed with tons of money and entitlement all his life without any real doing of his own. The guy could hardly string a sentence together. Even more startling is the fact that he could not "recall" just about anything about his organization when he supposed makes "ALL the decisions at the Garden." What does that say about his ability to run an organization?

As ironic as this may sound, I still think the Knicks are back on the right track to success (thanks to Mr.Isiah Thomas himself) but I'm not too confident in either's character at this point. If anything comes of this case, I'd be looking into a young up and coming NBA executive that might have a vision; like Donnie Nelson who has to have considered leaving Dallas with his father and Cuban having so many issues.

Agree with most of it, but don't be fooled by the "I can't recall...". It's a safe non-committal answer used all the time in the courts during testimony.

In either case those "I can't recall" statements certainly does not reflect well on him. Personally, I do believe some of it was him trying to cover his tracks which is reflective of the larger problem at hand; him not properly managing the Knicks.
