Knicks @ Celts

Didnt see the gamethread, but so far its an entertaining game. Knicks are playing some form of defense today. Zach is unstoppable, the guy has such an array of skills. Curry's new found 'tough' side is not going to keep him on the court for long. He better cut that crap out

The big 3 of the Celts are hard to stop. Its the guys around them that bring them down to earth.

Re: Knicks @ Celts

The game is getting real rough. Pierce almost gets into a fight with Crawford over a foul on Allen.

Re: Knicks @ Celts

I am more than a little dissapointed that only Wilson chandler came to Crawford's aid when all 5 celts circled and pinned JC to the basket out of bounds...the rest of the knicks on the court stayed on the outside of the that circle where they were of little help.

nate if he were on the court would have forced himself in there , that he he would and he is so small, but the rest of the guys on the court didn't really step up is a big disappointment and speaks ill of their character, it doesn't speak that highly of the celts either but at least they did did their bullying together as a team.

and that moment was certainly a time in which they missed balkman who is not a thug but has a bit of an enforcer streak in him.

basically if the team cant defend themselves and their teammates they aren't much of a power team no matter how many points they put up in the paint because the respect wont be there from opponents or the refs...after that situation the celts got all the calls pretty much for the rest of the 3rd quarter , i dont think that was a coincidence.

but except for that rather sizable chink in their armor i thought they played well, they played hard and were for most part resilient .

what was pierce thinkign putting his hand on JC's face.....if he did that to nate, nate would've lost control and started swinging

Re: Knicks @ Celts

This is how you ERASE a 40 point Lost.

Wow the knicks came out ready to do there thing i can talk about each player with so much love today and i will start with of course the coach.
Isiah finally came out with a game plan to play the Celtics and it worked they were monsters on Defense all through the game. i know you may say well the big three did there thing well those guys will be hall of famers each one of them so if you think any one can stop them for real your crazy.

Curry he was playing help D and got into foul trouble. He was guarding KG well KG does that to people i still think he got shafted on a few calls though.
Zach well hes zach a few less rebounds this game then usual but KG's vertical is crazy there wasnt much he could do against him but he did get some Key rebounds and his offense well it is whats expected.
Q.Rich whos defense today was incredible he held down Pierce while he was guarding him and he hit some key shots plus attempted to drive to the whole but yeah KG was a beast down low
Marbury He played the 2 which is where he should play his Defense was on point although he left his man open alot trying to play help defense his scoring was down but thats because he was tired running all over the court.
Crawford he did well at the point dishing the ball out quickly id rather see him come of the bence and play the 2 and let collins run the team. Ill get back to you later about why picked him over nate to start.
Lee well lee was lee a monster out there hes getting so much better but he needs a jumper he had some powerful dunks and drove to the whole but soon people will step back and not give him the chance to score leaving him wide open and he needs to be able to take that shot.
NATE my man for all yall who wanted him gone i told you hes a monster damn that boy has a sweet jump shot and hes always in the right spot at the right time for the break away and he didnt even dunk or do anything stupid just nice layups damn how old is he again cause hes looking twice his age from last year. And if anyone wants to debate me about this hes the reason why the Celtics didnt come back and beat us he was the spark off the bench that kept us ahead throughout the game Lee did his thing to but if Nate wasnt there we probably would have lost.
JJeffries. Well i wont front i was one of those guys who wanted this kid gone but im glad Isiah was smart enough to keep him. his offensive game isnt so great but he does have some good D and when given the ball down low he can actually score good positioning thats whats up.

The rest of the team came in and did well. Although Fred Jones the so called defensive specialist fell to the floor he wasnt looking so good i dont know why Isiah has such a hard on for this kid i dont think hes that good. but he did play alright in other games but still not looking like the glove or someone like that.
This was a big win for us because both teams treated this like a real game. Playing there starters in real life minutes. I loved this game.

True dat - True dat!

The Knicks Starting 5 players played great DEFENSE from the start of the game ending the 1st qtr. with a Knick lead 29-28.
I hav'nt seen first quarter defense like that since Ward, Anderson, Kurt Thomas, and Mutombo, was the Knick Starters.

The 2nd quarter Nasty Nate Robinson took the Knicks to the next level of NBA B-Ball getting 4 quick assists and putting the Knicks ahead by 15 points with 7 minutes left in the 2nd quarter with players Lee, Malik, Jefferies, and Marbury alongside of him. I cant wait to see Nate, Lee, and Balkman on the court together. Knicks 55-46 at the half.

I have NO Complaints about the Knick Players or Isiah Thomas coaching other than not giving Rookie Demetris Nicholes any of Jones & Jefferies playingtime in the Preseason.
Isiah Thomas came out with a WINNING-PLAN for this Celtic game, Knicks WIN 94-87 (If the Knick-Players and Isiah plan like this for 82 games the Knicks will not only make the playoffs but will be an above .500 Team this season.)...

Re: Knicks @ Celts

Thanks for the game thread HB, I totally forgot! I haven't catched much of the pre-season games lately, but Grinch's post makes me a little nervous. We don't need guys on this team who can't come to their teammates aid when the opposing team is trying to act like a bunch of bullies. Sounds like a bunch of overpaid pansies to me, and that's not a good look.

The reason why some people wanted him gone including myself has nothing to do with his so called sweet jump shot, blah blah blah. It's his immaturity, his instigating (See Nuggets fight) and his showboating that gets on my last nerves. This is the NBA not the Harlem Globetrotters. Let's see if he is a changed man by the time January roles around before we start to give him the Purple Heart.

Edit: How's Nate's shot selection? I bet you he still chucks up horrible shots at the wrong time. All this praise for pre-season games.
