Knick Starters & Rotation lineup

As Clyde says, Winning is CONTAGIOUS! When you have a teammate out there giving his all - others will follow.

With the "Tazman" energy, court awareness, and toughness, his teammates can do nothing but follow his lead.
I guess that, and how Balkman, Lee, and Nate, knows how to "search & find" each Knick oponents weakness then take advantage of it to outscore their oponent whether its applying more defense or speeding up the offense these three players does it well together. And that makes me a happy camper about this Knick-Team.

I have to agree with all the Fans which notice that Q.Richardson slowness at the SG position, his experience does not weigh up to compete with the speed of these young SG. Players like Wade, Rip, Felton, Gordon, and Kobe would get 20 points at half-time with Q.Rich defending them, because these players dont stop moving and running around teammates picks on offense.
Q.Richardson "Back-Injury" got the best of him.

Should the Knicks use the "Switch" in the Starting lineup vs certain Teams?

When a healthy Renaldo Balkman return, Coach Isiah Thomas should weigh each Knick oposition to let SF-Balkman Start in certain games and SF-Q.Richardson Start in certain games, all depending on the oponents frontcourt Starting Bigmen.
I also believe the samething should be done with SG-Nate & SG-Crawford in the Starting lineup, and PF-Lee & PF-Zach in the Starting lineup.
Because we already know that Marbury & Curry will Start all 82 games this season.

Doing this would develope "Confidence & Chemistry" among an 8-Man rotation early in the season.
However, for this Knick-Team to have great success they have to use their Depth-Chart in alot of games going 10 to 12 men DEEP on their roster so their main 8-Man rotation is always fresh and out of foul trouble in the start of the 4th qtr.
Many may say different, but Malik Rose & Collins should be the 9th & 10th Man off the bench to average 6 to 12 MPG this season (Nate Robinson has showed repeatedly that he is the BEST Combo-Guard on this Knick Team and Crawford should strictly play 95% of his playingtime at the SG position only.)...

Re: Knick Starters & Rotation lineup

If I'm the Knicks, I buyout the contract of Malik Rose and keep Jared Jordan.

PG: Stephon Marbury...Nate Robinson...Jared Jordan
SG: Fred Jones...Jamal Crawford...Mardy Collins
SF: Renaldo Balkman...Quentin Richardson...Wilson Chandler
PF: Zach Randolph...David Lee...Jared Jeffries
C: Eddy Curry...Randolph Morris...Jerome James

I stick James, Jordan and Chandler on the IR.

I wouldn't want Marbury, Crawford, Randolph and Curry in the starting lineup because that's simply too much offense and not enough defense. Crawford is a scoring spark-plug for the second unit and Richardson is too slow to start at the 2, so I'd give Fred Jones a chance there. He's a quick player, has experience and has enough shooting ability and offensive talent to keep other teams aware of his presence out there.

The main rotation off the bench would be Robinson, Crawford, Richardson and Lee. Morris would only see minutes in case of foul trouble and Jeffries would only get out there if we needed a burst of energy.

Remind me how Quentin Richardson is to slow when he was a former member of an uptempo team in Phoenix and currently plays for a half court team with the Knicks that have two plodding big men as their primary offensive attack. Considering Richardson's excellent defensive ability, ability to feed the post and ability to play off the post to hit long range shots, I don't see how he could be anything other than a perfect fit for the Knicks. He might not be one of the quickest guys in the league laterally but that is what a defender like Ronaldo Balkman is for in our starting lineup. You seldom see a team that boasts two top notch penetrators/scorers in the backcourt so Richardson could take the slower of the two.

Ideally speaking, I'd start Chandler ahead of Balkman because Chandler brings skill which is needed more next to Randolph and Curry. Whoever you play in the starting lineup is going to have to know how to feed off of the opportunties those two provide and make life easier on them. Chandler has the better jimmy at this point which means he provides better spacing for them, has demonstrated better court awareness on the offensive end of the floor with moving the ball and is a pretty good defender to boot. Balkman brings energy which generally is ineffective after 20mpg of straight play and best served coming off the bench.

Cut Jerome James at worse and send Jared Jordan to the D-League is need be.
