Isiah Offered A Marbury For Bibby Swap: DENIED!
Quote:

The Cavs are still expected to pursue Mike Bibby, though the Knicks supposedly struck out on an even Marbury-Bibby swap among several others with Marbury owed about $40 million through the end of next season.

What a moron to even try to actually think that would work. Steph is pretty much untradeable, unless the GM of that franchise is as stupid as Isiah.

^ making a ridiculous offer isn't trying to win, it's covering his own behind, and making a crappy effort at even that.

Ridiculous how? It's become quite evident that over the past few seasons that Mike Bibby is not quite the player we all imagined him to be. Last season is now recognized as one of his worst and likely won't be seeing better days ahead of him considering his age. Top that off with the fact that he has a long-term contract and I could see how this deal makes sense from the financial standpoint alone. The fact that the Kings would also likely be able to unload one of their other less than attractive contracts on us and I believe you could see the rationale behind making a deal.

You pretty much comprehend what I was saying, and you also right it's all about Isiah covering his ***. The faster this guy is showed the door the better.

If we weren't talking about Marbury on the other end, you'd have a great point. But Marbury's a headcase who can't coexist with anyone, has an atrocious reputation earned through years in the league, and $40 million left on his contract. As far as most teams are concerned, that combination makes him totally undesirable.

Actually I think it's more like 42 million...but that extra 2 million isn't much to Dolan I guess

Re: Isiah Offered A Marbury For Bibby Swap: DENIED!
Marbury can be traded if you take back less value or add a young player like Lee.
That's what Portland did in essence with Randolph. We took back less value to get rid of him. It's not like he can't play, he just couldn't play for Portland anymore.
Something like, and this is hypotheticaly, but something like
Marbury (waived immediately)
Lee
for
LaFrentz
Miles
Portland gets rid of it's garbage and an extra year of salary and picks up Lee
NY gets rid of a cancer and adds a player in Miles that might do ok being reunited with Richardson.
Like I said, this is strictly hypothetical, but something like this is what NY might want to do if they really want to get anything for him. If not they should waive him themseves.

^ Except that giving up Lee would be a big mistake.

Starbury and Artest on the same team? Now that's a wild card in the West...
