After letting Stephon Marbury squirm on the bench for three games, Knicks coach Isiah Thomas relented on Tuesday, putting the veteran playmaker back in the starting lineup against the Golden State Warriors. "I just think he needed a reminder," Thomas said. "I don't think it's something he doesn't know how to do. He definitely knows how to play the position. He has great skill, great talent. We needed to remind him of what we need and expect from that position for us to be successful.

Pistons:

Plans to send rookie Cheikh Samb to the Development League are on hold, for now anyway. "I think we've talked a little bit, and I think we'll hold off for now," coach Flip Saunders said. "There's no question we can throw him in the game. He has a presence. ... You're not afraid to put someone like that on the floor." Saunders has always favored keeping Samb around. The 7-foot-1 center has been too impressive for Saunders to want to give him up.
