Post Aguirre: Eddy's Problem Is Zach

Quote:
Knick assistant Mark Aguirre said slumping Eddy Curry may be freaked out by the presence of

Zach Randolph. Aguirre, Curry's mentor, told The Post, “The biggest thing with him is he was deferring the offense to try to fit in with Zach. That is a good thing but it kills him from being totally aggressive like he was last year. He was immensely more aggressive last year than he is now." Curry, who was held scoreless in last night's 101-96 loss to the Bulls, and Isiah Thomas have denied Randolph's presence is the factor. The Randolph trade was controversial because of speculation Curry would be adversely impacted. “The box was his," Aguirre said. “He owned that. Now he wants it to work. A lot of times he would see a situation and take his man over. He now might defer. “We're going back to basics," Aguirre added. “I think now you'll see him hit people a little harder, go at people more fierce."

Re: Aguirre: Eddy's Problem Is Zach

no, eddy's problem is he doesnt love the game...........therefore he's not going to be dedicated enough to elevate himself to be a great player in the NBA..he's content with how he is now, plus he's got money in the bank......there's no motivation left.

That box obviously needs to be bigger if it wants to hold both Curry and Zach.

And stronger so that it doesn't collapse under the weight.

Re: Aguirre: Eddy's Problem Is Zach

After the trade was made with Portland I was wondering how Curry & Randolph would play together. I pop into this forum from time to time to get updates. Is Curry really having a serious problem with playing with Randolph? Is the paint not big enough for both of them to play together? I know that Randolph had a lot of rebounds while in Portland and a lot of those rebounds were his own misses, I guess my question here is......Does Randolph playing with Curry take away from what Curry did last year?

The Curry & Zach Tandem lead this Knick-Team to a 7-16 perfomance so far.
The TWO PLAYERS supposed to be a "TANDEM"!
not individual play.

The two have little co-existing together on offense and NO co-existing on Defense in their last 23 games.
Every Member in here should've known there is NO Miracle on 33st. when concerning Curry & Zach.
Last Season they both may have had their best NBA career performance (Individual-Performance), but look where their TEAMS came in the Lottery.

Curry & Zach Team-Performance with their Teammates last season (2006-7) was so POOR that they did not deserve a Vacation this offseason.
It was too obvious that their passing-game, defensive-game, and turnover-game needed alot of overtime work this offseason on draft night when the two were put together.
The POOR Leadership of President/Coach Isiah Thomas should've forced
Eddy Curry & Zach Randolph to show up at Mark Aquire Big Man Camp three days before it open in July, because of their POOR Team Performance lastseason. Their individual defense performance outweighed their offensive performance.
By both Players not participating in any workouts or scrimage games together this offseason with their Knick teammates resulted in this 7-16 record.
We all know about Marbury being the problem, but the buck cant be passed to Marbury when the Two Bigmen has not showed any domination on either side of the court in 23 straight games.

The Boston BIG-3 did not have a Vacation this past offseason (because of their previous season performance), they were in the Gym or promoting the Boston Celtics this entire past offseason. The results so far is a 19-2 record with 14 Blowouts (Making G.M. and Coaches look Great). If Boston get swept in the first round (which I doubt, their co-existing performance with their teammates say Conference FINALS) they could take a vacation this comming offseason from June to December 2008. They SOLD-OUT 85% of every stadium they played in so far, and more sold-out performances to come.
