Ron Artest...
I'm starting to jump on the Ron Artest bandwagon right now especially since there is a workable deal with the Nuggets interested in Randolph. The Knicks would give up Zach Randolph, Malik Rose and Ronaldo Balkman; the Nuggets would give up JR Smith, Steven Hunter, Linas Kleiza and Eduardo Najera (as proposed earlier this year); and the Kings would give up Ron Artest, Kenny Thomas and Mikki Moore.
The Knicks would recieve Ron Artest, Mikkie Moore and Kenny Thomas.
The Nuggets would recieve Zach Randolph and Ronaldo Balkman.
The Kings would recieve Eduardo Najera (and waive him), JR Smith, Linas Kleiza and Steven Hunter.
The Knicks would be able to start David Lee or Jared Jefferies at the 4, and Ronnie at the 3 with Eddy at the 5, Jamal at point and Richardson at the 2 guard.
I think another good idea would be to make moves for Marko Jaric and a 2nd round pick for Jerome James. Then attempt to acquire Troy Murphy for Fred Jones, Kenny Thomas and Randolph Morris to bring Murphy off the bench.

Re: Ron Artest...
Why would you want to do that if Artest wants to opt out and come here next year anyway?

Re: Ron Artest...
Because Ronnie Postal also wants a lot of money, which the Knicks can't give him unless they have his Bird Rights.

Someone mentioned it earlier but we'd have Artest's bird rights in exchange for a guy that we really don't have any use for next to Curry. We'd rid ourselves of a bad contract and bring in a player we need immediately rather than later. In addition to that, players are always change their mind on things like this and waiting on Artest is not the best option when teams will be throwing millions of dollars more at him.

That's what Peter Vecsey is saying, however, his sources have been called into question recently. If I recall correctly stories coming from Denver and Chicago had the Nuggets interested in Randolph and not the other way around.

Re: Ron Artest...
I read a lot of reports that said that, too. However, the news out of Denver says that acquiring Randolph is laughable for several reasons.
I've always like Zach, and if we do trade for him, I would hope that another trade would be going down, as well.
Personally, I don't see it happening.
I think the Nuggs will make a mistake and stand pat.
