NBA Draft 2008

Anybody get the feeling that the Knicks will end up with the no.1 pick in the draft? Maybe it's just me but in either case, I think we should start asking ourselves the question, what if we get the no.1 pick in the draft? Who should we select with it? What should we do with it if we do not like our position at that spot; do we trade down or trade for several solid players with all-star potential or all-star credentials? I'm curious to hear what would be your agendas if we happened to land the top overall pick in the draft.

I personally like Derrick Rose but I doubt he'll build up his resume to be the top overall pick in the draft. We could very well trade down for him but that would also mean that there would have to be some personnel changes on our team since I see him being his best in a running, uptempo system with cutters (none of which we do).

I haven't been particularly enamored with Beasley's game. I could see he's a very talented scorer but I'm not sure whether he's much more than that. I rather get a guy that has star quality but can utilize those abilities within a team concept rather than him being the team concept (if that makes sense). I could be wrong about him but so far, I'm iffy about him.

I know most teams wouldn't blink twice about taking him which is why I wouldn't mind looking to swing a deal for him. I know the Bucks management is on the brink of upheavel right now with their owner tripping out about this season. I would look into moving Beasley and some other young player(s) of ours for Bogut and their draft pick this year. I'd then look to package Curry and Randolph for picks and role players.
