I know paulxu. I just quoted you to let you know that he has a daughter since you thought he had a son. Anyway, I understand the vitriol towards Pav and some VCU fans but as far as his parenting goes he loves his daughter.
What happened last night we saw a lot this year...slow starts and digging ourselves into a hole. Most of those holes we were able to overcome, but last night was too much. Plus, SM is good; those boys can shoot lights out on any given night, as they have proven all year, so kudos to them.
All week in Richmond, we heard how St. Mary's couldn't keep up with Gonzaga and how they were going to be easy pickings for an athletic team like VCU. This conveniently ignored the fact that Gonzaga is the best freaking team in the nation and has a very good chance of winning the whole tournament. They make almost everyone look slow and silly.
Frankly, VCU performed better than I expected last night, given that they faced a team that went 30-1 against all other opponents and given that VCU had beaten exactly two top-100 RPI teams away from the Siegel Center all year (Richmond and Bona).
Good season for VCU. That was a crap matchup, but those Rams showed their grit. Late in the first half I was just trying to figure how they would make it respectable, but VCU damn near came all the way back in the end.
Hey almost an hour until Rhody laces them up! You know they have to be excited. 1999 was a party for sure but nothing like the clock ticking to zero....oops out of time!
Good luck Rhody!
I actually picked VCU to lose that game. Was kind of obvious if you ask me. SMC runs a high octane offense. Unless VCU showed up with elite level defense (like Top 10 type defense) then VCU's lack of offense would be the issue. SMC can score and it's a beautiful thing to watch really.
Pulling for Rhody now and then about ready to throw up over this Dayton game later.
SMC was underseeded, like Wichita State. VCU never had a chance, committee screwed the A10 big time. Next year Richmond's AD will be on the selection committee, hopefully the conference will get better treatment.
Gotta have a few of these jumpers fall for Rhody. Their defense is stifling CU. I'm hoping TBS keeps the cameras off of The Pageant Mom so I can keep pulling for the Rams.
Dayton up 29-27 at the half. Love the effort so far but feel we should be winning by more. What a lucky 3 point shot by that scrub at the end of the first half. Dude has attempted 4 3 pointers all year and he hits that one.
I'll take a 2 point lead though considering Pollard/Cunningham both picked up 2 fouls before you could blink and we went with Mikesell, Williams and Miller most of the way.
Scoochie Smith is a winning player, through and through. It is very understandable why UD fans wouldn't trade him for any other guard. The kid is tougher than whale shit and just fights.
The Flyer's had too many possessions with out scoring the past three games. They really didn't finish the season well. Ten more shots and ten more assists than WSU
It's up to Rhoady to carry the banner. I have you guys in the S16.
Scoochie was like VCU's Lewis. Almost carried the team single handed.
Both needed to get a little more help from the others.
