Not all that impressed with Temple. We played Duke a whole lot tougher, but Dunphy has some great pieces and it's easy to look at game results and try to make comparisons but that really means nothing.

Temple is a decent, not great team from what I saw. It looks like the A-10 has a whole lot of those.

I wouldn't call any team, including VCU, a great one from what I've seen so far. Some very solid 30-60 type programs, but we don't have any teams that have really separated themselves into top 25 caliber teams at this point in the season.

Should I root for the Flyers or Miami. It's a no brainier - rooting for Miami but have nothing to lose. Just some irate Flyer posters. :starwars:

Note: We owe the MAC big time and play Miami both Football and Basketball. We play both teams so it's a wash for RPI. Know I should root for the A10 but feel we owe a lot to the MAC and they do have 7 teams going to bowl games including the Orange Bowl.

Did EMU just knock off Prudue.

It's actually not a wash for several reasons. First, because Dayton plays so many teams in common, they will have a greater effect on your rpi (because they also factor into the opponents-opponents record component of every conference opponent). Second, raising the rpi of the conference improves the conference strength relative to the other top leagues, which could come into play at bubble time. If Umass has any intention of being a bubble team (maybe via strong conference play) then Umass would benefit quite a bit more from a stronger Dayton. Third, if Dayton finishes top 100 or top 50, then a win against them is counted differently than if they are 100+.

That doesn't mean you need to be completely rational in who you root for. I root against a number of Niner opponents (non-A10) in their other games, just because their fans stink or I don't like their team for other reasons.

Khalif and Scootie had bad games and we still hung in for most of the game. I am not too gloomy about this one, Duke played at a very high level and we actually had some solid contributions from people like Dalton Pepper, Decosey, Anthony Lee etc. I think this will help the team a lot in finding it's identity and should be stronger later.

Temple was never really within single digits the entire game. I wouldn't call that hanging in there.

That said Temple does have some talented players and looks like a good team, just not close to a top-25 one so far.

Duke has been playing at a high level all year. You don't beat the #2, #3, and #4 teams in the country in November without playing at a high level.

I guess when you are down in double digits for a long time 11-13 points seems like it is in the game. I don't think any Temple fan expected to be top 25 this early, it's going to take time for this team to work at a good level just a lot of new pieces. It is a transition year even though we do have enough talent to want to be a top 25 team. Hopefully we take care of business the next two weeks and can give Syracuse a little bit more of a challenge.

Really interested in this Northeastern La Salle game. Northeastern played us tough in Alaska, but I they were missing a key player in Senior Jonathan Lee. Don't know if he's back or not, looks like he didn't play in the UMass game. Looks like they said 6 weeks on October 19 so he may be back for this one, which mean he may be back for this one.

Pretty disappointing effort for Temple, but Duke is the #1 team in the country. Don't understand how Indiana is ranked ahead of them. That said, Quenton DeCosey is the best freshman I have seen at Temple in the last 5 years. I know it's early, but he looks incredible so far.

Dukes up 12-8 early. Colter playing well early, has 5 points. They are really pushing hard on the fast break. Looks like a lot of points will be scored in this one.
