Congratulations to unh... Just shooting to well. Albany 8 ooc wins a bit of fools gold. This season is quickly turning into getting ready for next year. When was the last time UA was 0-3 to start conference play?
For all your current issues, it's not like you're giving up 90 points a game like we were last season. It's going to be our fourth game in about a week after a road trip to Hartford and Vermont. I think it's going to be a very tight game.
The JUCO route seemed to come up a bit empty this year. They are not getting production like they usually do. Johnson and sanders were a couple of great defensive pieces.
It's time for Albany to take a dip into rebuilding after a solid half decade. I still see talent on this team just not coming together right now. Key contributors are young and inexperienced and the rest of the roster around them trying to find roles. Yeah, Albany is down... The wind against Penn St and Siena plus 6 other ooc opponents were making the issues a bit, just need to keep learning, play together and maybe they can be ready to give someone a headache in tourney. This clearly isn't going to be one of Browns better teams but there is good talent here and good foundation to build in going forward.
2009-2010 was the last time Albany started out 0-3 in conference play. That team was a dud and I had higher hopes for them with Will Harris and Tim Ambrose there. Strangely enough, that third loss was to New Hampshire as well. If not for Binghamton withdrawing from the AE Tournament, Albany would have had to play in a first round game. Those were some darker days, for sure. I didn't expect this 2016-2017 team to be regular season champions or anything, but I didn't expect 0-3 either.
Hartford's John Gallagher needs to step down effective immediately or terminated at the end of the season. Seven years with a lot of losing and no promise for the future. I am surprised the Hartford Administration has allowed this much time in the first place. They need a new face and new coaching style that can recruit.
When they finally do decide to fire him you should get at least some of the credit for that decision. If less than 10% of your posts lack something about firing Gal I'd be surprised.
Well when your offense is predictable for seven years and play no D and continue to pile up high double digit loses every year it warrants posts. For sone reason they like him.
I wonder if any site has stats on what Albany's defense is like when Nichols and Cremo aren't on the floor? Albany's depth is probably their main defensive problem. Offensively, their two best players can't shoot 3s which puts a lot of pressure on scoring inside.

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread, it would be nice if the league kept some more sophisticated stats, but someone said I was just fishing for categories that UVM would lead... ;-)
I just watched part of Gallagher's postgame PC. Man, I feel for the guy. He sounds thoroughly beaten. He basically said there's a lot of opportunity for someone to step up because so many players have performed poorly.
It's got to be even more difficult for him losing to UMBC where you've got a first-year HC in Odom taking over a roster of a team that didn't win much, and now it's at the top of the league and potentially a 20-game winner- and knowing he's been at Hartford much longer and not really close to that.
I watched the post game as well. I don't feel bad for him. These are his players. He brought them in. He hasn't developed anyone. This is all on him. The Hartford Admin need to get him out for his own psyche.
