The Oklahoma City NBA ownership group has reached out and bought the NBA Developmental League team in Tulsa, it was announced today.

The Tulsa 66ers, who are already affiliated with Oklahoma City's team, serve as a farm club, with players being able to be called up to the pros.

The 66ers will play this season at SpiritBank Arena in Bixby.

This is not a surprise and I knew this was going to happen. I forgot the other team that was affiliated with 66ers, but the Spurs model is going to be applied the same way in Tulsa (Spurs purchased Austin Toros). Tulsa should have new colors as well next year, but the most interesting in this, is that it means that basically the entire state's professional basketball appeal is owned by Bennett. That's pretty darn shrewd and continues to make me believe this will be a success.
