The deal fell apart and just as well. Weisbrod had too many reservations about Artest. "We did our due diligence," he said. "What we found concerned me."

I wonder if the "what we found" is any more than us knowledgeable fans know about.

I for one and happy that we did not make a deal with Indiana. Or at this point, the Suns too.

It would be like Deja Vu all over again like with Hill, although he might not have gotten involeved in that fight, I'm sure there would be some other type of on/off court mishap.

I think the Magic wanted too much. From what I heard we wanted Harrington, Artest, Tinsley, Bender and a few more players.

All well that ends well. The Houston trade IMO was the best trade we could get. No other trades, baring Amare and Marion coming to the Magic, looked better.

At the time I wanted either the Indiana deal or the Phoenix deal (the rumored ones) more than I wanted the Houston deal, by far. But I prefer what we got over the Indy deal especially, and the Phoenix deal. Although Marion, JJ, and pick would not have been bad either.

i think ur olando magic could've got much more fo Tracy, Howard, n Lou.....then Marion n JJ....
the trade they did with houston is really good for the team

the reality proves we made the right choice.
but arrtest is a great player. If we got arrtest and a.harrington and some others for T-mac could also be very good.

You could be right. But one of the biggest reasons I think the Houston trade went down, besides Weisbrod's infatuation with Francis, was that Houston was probably the only team willing to take Gaines, Lue, and Howard from us. Without trading those guys with Tmac, we'd still have all of them because nobody would want them.
