Hill Expects Owens to be Out More than 6 Weeks

Hill scoffs at notion of Eagles' Owens playing this year

Quote:
When Grant Hill heard that Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens would be having ankle surgery in Baltimore, the Orlando Magic star forward couldn't help but cringe. Owens had surgery Wednesday to have two screws and a metal plate inserted in his ankle. The procedure was performed by Mark Myerson, the same physician who operated on Hill's ankle in 2000 and 2001. Knowing that Owens is putting his future in the hands of Myerson, a foot and ankle specialist, worried Hill

"(Myerson) is putting it out there that he was the one who got Grant Hill back, and we all know that wasn't the case," Hill said with a smirk. "I wasted my time with him." Hill ultimately left Myerson's care and had a more involved procedure performed in 2003 by James Nunley at the Duke Medical Center in North Carolina.

Nunley broke Hill's heel and realigned it with his leg. Limited to 47 games in his first four seasons with Orlando, Hill has played in 24 of 25 games this season and is second on the team in scoring.
Just an interesting story I thought I'd post in here. So Owens elects to go to the doctor that screwed up Hill's first three surgeries? Can't say I blame Hill for not exactly putting in a good word for Myerson.

I wonder if Owens has heard about this. Personally, with Hill's past problems and his return this year, I think i'd be seeking out the same doctor he had in this last operation.

I sure as hell don't think i'd go to his previous doctor.

That's what I thought. I'm still trying to figure out why Owens would go to him if he knew about it, and if he didn't, why didn't he? He has enough guys around him working for him and the Eagles that they should know things like this before sending Owens and the entire city of Philadelphia's hopes with him to some doctor that messed up on Grant Hill's surgery and whatever advice he gave him after the operations not once, not twice, but three times. Hill had some pretty harsh words about the guy, I don't know if I'd be very happy right now if I were an Eagles fan.

From everything I heard about Hill's ankle injury early on in his career (when he first broke it completely with Detroit), to this day I always thought there was something fishy. I always wondered how Hill's ankle could be in such bad shape that his doctors and he himself couldn't figure out if he was healthy.

It makes you wonder if Myerson just isn't a good doctor. Then again, why would TO use him if he wasn't?
