Re: Francis No-Show at Practice
I'm very disappointed in Steve.
Honestly I love the way Steve plays, but I'm not sure if I want him on my team. Long-term anyway.

Re: Francis No-Show at Practice
After the way he played tonight, I'm up for trading him. Hell trade him to the Sonics for Ray Allen.

Re: Francis No-Show at Practice
Slightly OT: Apparently the Nuggets of all teams are trying to acquire Francis. They offered us Miller, Lenard, and Skita for Francis. We turned it down (if you want to read about it scroll to the bottom of the article): http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,...727078,00.html
At this point, I wouldn't be opposed to trading Francis to Denver or anywhere else. Here's a deal that I think we'd definitely accept, but I'm not sure about Denver (maybe we could throw in some seconds):
Francis and Kasun
for
Miller, Nene, and White (or some other filler)
This would be our new lineup:
PG- Miller, Nelson
SG- Christie, Stevenson
SF- Hill, Turkoglu, White
PF- Howard, Nene, Garrity
C- Cato, Battie
IL: Augmon, Hunter, DeClercq
I like just about everything from this trade. In Miller we get a point guard who's used to running an uptempo offense. He won't play as much as Francis so that opens up more PT for Nelson. Nene and Howard could develop into one of the best big men duos in the league. Also, we'll be seeing less of Garrity with this trade which is great. This trade also gives us a full roster again.

I'll say no to the deal for Miller. I don't really like Miller all that much, and the type of offense he really excels in is a halfcourt one.
I'm not against trading Francis, I just don't think doing it in the middle of the year is the smartest thing unless we get a deal that just can't be turned down, but of course the chances of that are very small.

I agree. I don't mind the idea of moving Francis, but not for Miller. I hate the way Miller plays for some reason, even moreso than Francis.
It'd be nice if we could pull off a coup and land Bibby somehow for Francis. Now that is a real PG i'd like to have. But that ain't happening.

There it is! There it is! 2 months from now you probably won't care much for the way he plays either. If not, just wait until Dwight Howard develops into a beast and then see if you can stand the way Francis plays.

Interesting article. I think we all knew it was coming at some point. If it doesn't work out, he'll be gone.
At least Steve seems open to it, which I didn't think he would
Quote:
Francis sees opportunities in the change.
``It means not having to do so much: running the fast break, running the offense and then having to score, too,'' Francis said. ``If I have somebody else bringing the ball up, maybe that'll give me more of an opportunity to score.''
