Hill out for the season
Hill out for rest of the season
Quote:
There was resignation in Grant Hill's voice, but he couldn't bring himself to say what has become painfully obvious: The Orlando Magic all-star forward has likely played his last game this season.
Hill underwent another bone scan on his bruised left shin on Wednesday and he is expecting that he will have to return to Duke University Medical Center later this week to be examined by Dr. James Nunley, the surgeon who performed the fourth surgery on his troublesome left ankle.
Hill, who missed his third consecutive game Wednesday against Chicago, has been bothered by pain in his left shin for the past month, an injury that he says happened when he was accidentally kicked Feb. 26 against the Miami Heat. Hill says there is irritation and a knot in the area where there is a metal plate connecting his shin and ankle.

Tonight's game certainly won't make Hill want to risk further injury coming back when pretty much the Magic's season is done. No use in Hill trying to play anymore this year.

Re: Hill out for the season
Still, Hill had an amazing year...nobody expected him to come back and contribute like he did. Here's to a healthier season next year!

Re: Hill out for the season
Hopefully the injury reports are true and his injuries really have nothing to do with his ankle. Apparently the extended soreness is somewhat due to the plate in his ankle, but hopefully it is just something that will go away with rest.
I hope Grant can make it through the summer healthy and come back even better next year.

Re: Hill out for the season
When he played with Detroit he was my favorite player, I was thrilled to see how good of a season he was having. Hopefully he comes back...

Re: Hill out for the season
Grant had a great year, his comeback story is the best story in the NBA this year and missing the remaining 7 games does nothing to tarnish that. I still think that if and when Francis is traded it will benefit Hill the most. Hopefully he works on his ballhandling and he can handle the ball more next year and be more of a playmaker than he was this season.

Re: Hill out for the season
Magic takes cautious approach with injured Hill
Quote:
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando Magic forward Grant Hill will miss his fourth consecutive game tonight because of a sore left shin as the team's meager playoff hopes fade.
Hill has had intermittent pain since being kicked more than five weeks ago. The bruise also sidelined him for three games in early March, then he returned for another 11 games before missing the last three.
The six-time All-Star underwent a CT scan. The results were sent to his doctor in North Carolina.

Re: Hill out for the season
Hill has had an amazing comeback season.
Magic still have a chance, but next season, Jameer Nelson should be a rising PG in the league, as he already is now.
