Nice article. Thats the thing about relying on rookies. Gooden and Giricek have been playing well since the trade, but they will have off games and be inconsistant. Its part of the growing pains.
As far as the draft goes, I am guessing Orlando will go after a PG. This year has depth and talent at the position. C, like you said, is weak. Orlando should be able to come away with a starting caliber PG in the draft in Rd 1.
Banks, Ridnour, Gaines, Hinrich, Mo Williams, Troy Bell are all possibilities. In drafting any of the above, you get a legit starting PG.
Combine that with TMac and Giricek, both starting caliber, the 1-3 are set. Gooden will be a fixture at the 4. Hunter will provide athleticism and shotblocking upfront.
To fix the C spot, maybe gamble and trade up in the 2nd round to get Marcus. Youd get a legit 7'0" center with size. Its a gamble, but it might be worth it.
