Darko ripped for effort against the jazz

read an article on fox sports by some guy named charley rosen, i think he's a buddy of phil jackson or something(who cares), he must of watched the jazz game and came to the conclusion that everything that was said in detroit by larry brown and co. must have been true. the kid played 20 minutes,1-3 ,a few boards, a couple of blocks, guy gave a running clinic how he didnt go after the ball, didnt hustle, yada yada yada. lets give him and the team some time to get their act together there. their rotations arent set, they really dont know each other all that well and least we forget they're an extremely young team. of course this guy was the one that proclaimed after one loss to the spurs that the mavs dont have what it takes, maybe he's clairvoyant or something.

Charley Rosen is pretty well known for being a complete idiot. This guy commenting on a player is like Peter Vecsey talking about "trade rumors."

i think if he had actually watched darko since he came to orlando he would have seen huge improvement and potential, not to be a darko apologist but the kid is probably not even in peak shape and who knows if he even knows all the sets yet. sky is the limit for him there of course he'll have to dedicate himself fulltime to become a star, if he's going to stay out all night and hang out and chase women(we can do that not him), then he may never reach his potential.

I read the article. He judged Darko's playing with the Magic off of that one game, which just happened to be the worst game he's played with the Magic so far. He did this without mentioning that it was the fifth game in seven nights on the road and this was the first time Darko had played 20+ MPG for that short period of time.

Re: Darko ripped for effort against the jazz

Does it really surprise you that Darko keeps getting ripped on no matter what? They've put so much pressure on this guy it's rediculous. It's his third year in the league and already he's been written off countless times. At least Kwame Brown lasted until he got this contract before people realized how crappy he really is.

Re: Darko ripped for effort against the jazz

Darko should be judged only when the season is over and his time with the Magic can be appraised properly. I, for one, am hoping he'll turn out to be a great foil for Howard's inside game. The Magic will be set at forward for many years to come if that happens.

Rosen's a senile piece of ****. He has less knowledge of today's game than half of this message board.

If Darko's ever going to develop like people are supposely dying for him to, they're going to have to get off his damn back and let him grow.

I agree. I don't have the exact quote in front of me, but it's in someone's sig on this site. It's a Rosen quote saying something to the effect of LeBron James will never be more than an average player in the NBA. Rosen's pretty well known for not having a whole lot of knowledge on today's game, not having any positive views on anything in today's game and generally not even seeming to like basketball today despite the fact that he covers it for a living.

Re: Darko ripped for effort against the jazz

Here's all you need to know about Rosen in his ending quest to be a big dick so he can keep job as a sports "shock jock" and his basketball knowledge:

His projection for Lebron pre-draft: lucky to be an average NBA player
