Will this be the year?
Will this be the year for the Magic to get out of the first round? I think unlike other years (knock on wood) the magic are comin with a little momentum and with few injuries. I have a good feeling about this year. Give me your thoughts?

We have a chance. It's too early to gaurantee anything, but with the East in total chaos the Finals arent even out of the question. Just have to hope they play their best and don't have any off nights. The Magic are a wild card team.
Play good = Can beat anyone in the East
Play badly = screwed

I hope Orlando makes it to the Finals. LAL vs Orlando would be a great matchup with many subplots. Shaq playing his old team. Kobe vs McGrady. Okay those are the only two subplots but they are good.

Anything can happen since we've got Steven Hunter and Drew Gooden in the front court and as pathetic as that is it's the best that we've had in the past 3 seasons and we've got someone who can create his shot on the back-court to help out T-Mac carry the scoring load.
Honestly, it will be tough to get past the Pistons but anything is possible.

If Wallace isn't healthy, Magic have a great chance of getting out of the first round. Gooden needs to be on top of his game, and Tmac needs to do his thing. Gordon needs to be knocking down shots from the outside. But get to the Finals? I don't think so. It's possible in the East, but I doubt it. My pick right now would be the Sixers. I don't think the Nets are quite as good as last year for some reason, and I just don't see them going all the way. The Pacers have been a joke the second half of the year, and Isiah isn't exactly the kind of coach to get them out of their fix. The Sixers have a great coach, a terrific star, and very good role players to compliment the star. I personally would love to see the Celts in the finals, but that's just not going to happen, they've been horrible.

even though they'd get broomed just like the others, it would be a heck of a lot more entertaining than say.. sixers in 5, pacers in 6, or nets in 4.

The Magic have a very good chance to escape the first round this year. Detroit isn't a great scoring team, and with the way McGrady is scoring, the Magic have a chance of winning games simply by just outgunning the other team. The key is Wallace's health. Hopefully, the injury is still having effects on him.

Somebody else besides McGrady has to hot more than 1 out of 4 shots though.
As amazing as he is, he cannot win it all by himself.
