It's from draftexpress and their team clubhouse section. Poorly written, poorly put together, and poor concepts.

I'd pick it apart, but I don't have hours of free time. Hope no one on here wrote it!

I really don't understand why it had to be written in such poor taste. It's as if every time the guy has to mention someone, he has to degrade them or ridicule them.

Wow! That was a horrible article! The person that wrote it should have got the facts straight. Like you said, I don't have enough time to point out every problem. Anyone who has been a Magic fan for at least 6 years and followed the teams play and decisions would realize this article was just flat out bad.

wow. that's 100% pure hatred.

it's not like orlando was the only team that passed on Amare because of his "character". he dropped to #9. That's 9 teams that passed on him. You minus Team Yao and Jay Williams (pre accident) and that's 7 teams. And why are we getting blasted for it? We didn't even have a top 10 pick that year (or did we?). I guess that's where you're coming in.

That's funny ... I've never read any of that type of stuff off DraftExpress but I just happened to read that 2 days ago ... I thought about emailing DraftExpress to tell them how terrible it was but then I figured, ah, forget about it.

I didn't read the whole thing but I seem to remember the last paragraph being particularly and totally off.

I could be wrong but I thought the pick that ended up being Amare we traded away prior to that... during our team offlead the summer of Tmac, Hill, and Duncan. Looking at the draft history at nbadraft.net our highest pick of that draft was 18. What an idiot.

I was about to email them about it too, but instead I thought I'd post it here. No point in complaining, little will be done. Draftexpress should stick to scouting reports in my opinion. I won't be bothering checking any more opinionated pieces on Orlando anymore.

I'm going to post some clips of players we're interested in with the #11 in the next few days in here, hopefully it creates a little excitement.

I do believe we had the rights to the pick that eventually ended up being Amare Stoudemire. We traded it and Penny Hardaway for Pat Garrity and something else.

The Amare pick was actually given away in the trade where we sent Bo Outlaw to Phoenix and got Jud Buechler in return. Here is some of the info i dug up from the suns website...

"The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have acquired forward Bo Outlaw and a first round pick plus cash from the Orlando Magic and sent swingman Jud Buechler to the Magic and guard Vinny Del Negro to the Los Angeles Clippers in a three-team trade. Orlando also sent cash to the Clippers and Orlando acquired the option to swap second round picks with the Clippers in the 2005 NBA Draft."

Pretty sad really.

kilgore, if he had a career in writing, after writing that piece it would be dead. Okafor was basically the thought to be number one draft pick by just about everyone until the magic started taking high schooler Dwight Howard seriously. And i wasnt 100% certain theyd actually pull the trigger on taking howard. And they did. And then this season you got Darko, who FYI to kilgore will start at center next year.

Those are the important facts of a team that will be vying for contention these next few years. Plus stealing Jameer Nelson from my beloved denver nuggets. Id say you guys are just fine
