Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
Good news, with time Ariza should turn into a great defender in the L if he asserts himself. Any news on what the numbers were?

Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
Will Ariza be able to guard SG's as well or is he limited to the SF position? Then on the flip side, would he be able to play the 4 for streches if the Magic go small?

I think he can definitely play 2/3. I don't know about 4. Maybe against Phoenix.

Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
The contract is supposedly a 3 year, $8 million dollar deal with a player option after the second year. That's the same contract Deshawn Stevenson got originally.

Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
Now that we have Ariza locked into a contract, let's hope Hill plays him some meaningful minutes so he can develop.

Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
He can GUARD 2's, but does he have the handle to play 2? Thought that was one of his main knocks?
On the other hand, he's long and athletic, so as long as Hill plays him he could develop into a nice 6th or 7th man for the Magic, some energy and D off the bench. He probably fits better next to JJ Redick than Hedo Turkoglu does as well.

I hope this guy has improved, I wished the Knicks would've signed him, D'oh. Us Knicks fans will probably be knocking ourselves in the head a couple years down the road.

KnickFans will CRY-CRY-CRY at seeing young 20 year old Trevor Ariza in an Orlando Magic Uniform.
Ariza is a good "Defensive Point Foward" that will stop the passing lane and start a fastbreak.
His offensive Skillz may come when he is 22 years old, but for now the Orlando Fans will LUV his tenacity and quickness to rebound, back-door alley-oop, and cause havoc on defense to their oponents 1,2, and 3 spots (YES! Ariza is a very well Defender).
Knick Fans Hate the HOF Championship Coach Larry Brown for trading Ariza. Steve Francis scoring could never replace all the little things "Trevor Ariza" brings to the court in crucial moments.
With PG-Nelson quartebacking the show with a healthy Reddick before midseason start, young Trevor Ariza backing up Turk will give the Magic the explosiveness they need off the bench.
I'm a Knick-Fan that will be watching the Magics games this season.
I see this Magic team pushing hard to make the Postseason games in the 2006-7 season.

Re: Trevor Ariza re-signed by the Magic
He certainly showed a very good ability to rebound late last year. Especially on the offensive boards.

I tend to agree and disagree with you. Ariza was fine with Knicks, but the worst part was trading him WITH PENNY EXPIRING CONTRACT for Francis... Ariza was the minor part, the Francis acquisition was the bigger deal. I think that Qyntel Woods have replaced most of Ariza skills and plays last season...
