What would you rather happen

Which scenario would magic fans like to see occur in the offseason.Would you rather :

1)Sign Gilbert Arenas and draft either Podkolzin,Pachulia or Schortsianitis(he still might b available)

or

2)Sign one of Howard,Keon Clark or PJ Brown and draft either Ridnour,Barbosa or Hinrich.

any other options.

Initially i liked the idea of signing Arenas however i feel we need more of a pure point guard rather than one who, i think, has a score first/pass 2nd outlook on the game.As well his assist to turnover ratio is atrocious for a point guard.I just wonder if this type of "point" might hinder the progress of G&G next year as i think given the right service they could be good for 35-40 ppg next year and would he deliver the ball to T-Mac at the right time.

Personally I would like us to sign Keon Clark as he would give us the shot-blocking defensive presnce we desperately need in the middle and would potentially form a good rotation with Steven Hunter (who must deliver next year). In the draft I lean towards Barbosa over Ridnour for 2 reasons.Firstly being the starting point for his national team he'll probably be able to contribute the most straight away.Secondly i think he has the most potential of any point guard in the draft.

Orlando magic starting line up next year
G-Barbosa
G-McGrady
F-Giricek
F-Gooden
C-Clark

Also any news on Kasun in Europe

I would go with scenario #1. I just think the Magic would be regressing next year w/ a rookie starting at PG. Adding an athletic body like Schortsianitis to the rotation would benefit the Magic. Plus all he has to do is "bang."

Tough. I like adding Keon Clark, but I don't think he would solve our "needs" at the power positions. He is a pretty weak player and not a great rebounder. He is essentially just a better verson of Steven Hunter. If we were to add a free agent big man, i'd rather see PJ Brown signed.

I think the key to next season is definitely Hunter. You know Gooden is going to return and be better, and be somewhat of an inside presence like we need. Now the rest is up to Hunter. He needs to be able to play 30 mins a night and not make all the stupid mistakes he usually does and not starting making worse mistakes once he makes one mistake.

My ideal situation would be -

Sign Gilbert Arenas
Sign PJ Brown
Draft Reece Gaines
Trade for a early/mid 2nd rounder and draft Chris Marcus

I dont think signing both Brown and Arenas is likely or even possible though.

lineup
PG - Arenas/Armstrong
SG - Tmac/Gaines/Sasser
SF - Giricek/Hill/Garrity
PF - Gooden/PJ Brown
C - Hunter/Marcus/Kasun

i doubt we have enough to get arenas, if we can somehow afford him then we gota do it in a second. Im tired of point guards killing us in the playoffs, aleast if we had arenas he would score some and stop all points from posting up, hes a 6'3 point with serious hops!!!! we gota get him some how, i would cream in my pants if we got him without trading anyone important. Also in the draft i would say go for potential rather then skill now, im tired of gabe drafting players that have been in a school for awhile thinking they will be able to contribute. Wasnt humprey surpose to be a player for us? he did stay in school for 4 years....

quit livin in the dream world

Barbosa will NOT BE AVAILABLE at 15, neither will Hinrich (Knicks wouldnt let him slip by 9th), but Ridnour (Seattle is gonna want the homeboy, well Oregon is close...) and Gaines might be taken by the Wizards or the Warriors. I'd choose Gaines over Hinrich and Ridnour. And in a perfect world, Gaines would slip to 15.

Arenas will NOT come to Orlando, its Golden State or Denver, most likely (since im also a nugz fan) Denver.

PJ Brown has nothing in the tank left, and Pauchillia (in my mind) might be taken 11th to the Warriors. While Podolzkin... well I want my mock draft to be right and have him go 17th, but if we MUST, then yea, Podolzkin would be a great pick. But I would rather have a Gaines/Keon Clark combo instead.

Also, Who do you suppose we trade for this second round pick?

Clark on the other hand, hes good, and if you MUST compare him with Hunter, then he is a MUCH BETTER version of Hunter. Sorry, but i gave up on Hunter after this season... ill give him another try next season (as Clark's backup...) and see if he can bulk up to somewhere 240-250, 20-30 pounds more, so next time Kemp is at the All-you-can-eat buffet - go with him.

Drafting Humphrey last year, was a bad decision, but look at the players that went after him... sure Boozer and Baxter were picked second round, but most people thought Boozer couldnt handle NBA, and Baxter was an undersized center tryin to make it as a power forward, not too appealling.

Sofoklis Shortiantis, to me, has BUST written all over him. He's 6'8/6'9" 300 lbs... which translates into being undersized.

We won't be able to get Arenas most likely. We don't have enough money to offer him like others have already stated. I would like the Magic to draft a PG and go for some big men in the free agent market. In the 2nd round, we can pick up a big man like Chris Marcus, David West, or any guys who have decent low post games and good rebounding skills.

If we can muster up the cash, Arenas sure would come to Orlando. If you were him, would you rather play for Orlando and be in the playoffs next year or Denver and be in the playoffs in 3 years in the tougher conference?

Humphries was a terrible, terrible pick. Why pick a PF in a SF's body? At least Baxter and Boozer had some size. Boozer IMO was easily a better player and pick than Humphries.

Sofoklis doesnt sound like a bust to me, especially in the East. Ben Wallace plays center at 6'6". The guy is solid muscle, just look at his pics.

Hello Magic fans...

Dream world? Are you telling me that Ford, Barbosa, Hinrich, Ridnour AND Gaines are going in the top 15? 5 pgs in the first 15 picks? We already know the first 3 picks, so really it is 5 out of the next 12. I think not.

But if you don't believe me, check out

http://www.nbadraft.net/

They have 3 going ahead of us (Ford, Barbosa and Ridnour) and two falling at or below us. Chances are VERY good one of those PGs will be there at 15.

Re: "PJ Brown has nothing in the tank left"

Um... Brown is entering his 11th year. Hardly a long NBA career. Look at his numbers, no dip. He was actually ABOVE most of his career averages this past year.
