Southeast division title?

Do you think the Southeast Division Title is too much of a reach. I would say its down to you and Miami, with Miami most likely winning it.

Records last season:

Miami: 52-30
Washington: 42-40
Orlando: 36-46
Charlotte: 26-56
Atlanta: 26-56

I tihnk Orlando will overtake Washington who lost Jared Jeffries and didn't gain much, and have a small shot of overtaking the aging Miami Heat.

Your thoughts?

Re: Southeast division title?

I think Orlando can win the division title, but obviously it would take a commitment to consistency and I don't believe this team is ready to sustain the level of play for a season. I think Miami will again win about 52 games and win the division. As of Orlando leapfrogging Washington, it is possible, but Washington has some veterans who know how to win some games, so it will be tough. Orlando's play will be contigent on a collective effort from every player, but the players who need to make the difference are Darko, Redick and Turkoglu. If they play well and compliment Howard and Nelson this team will be good; however, if they struggle, this team will struggle.

My Division predictions:
Miami: 52-30
Orlando: 45-37
Washington: 44-38
Charlotte: 35-47
Atlanta: 34-48

Re: Southeast division title?

I think Miami takes it.....If Butler plays well for Washington and Haywood or Thomas are consistant, then I think they hold on to second, just ahead of Orlando.

You made so many good points in this post. I think the players that I would like to see make a big impact are Darko and Redick. These guys are big ? to me. I need to see how they will perform through a whole season and whether or not they can fit into a system and succeed. I'm not concerned about Turkoglu at all. I think he is a very sound player and we know what we can expect from him. IMO Turkoglu is the most solid offensive player on the team. He can contribute in so many ways and he will continue to play his role really well. He will not dominate by any means, but I think he is a prime example of the consistency that you mentioned.

Micky's Division Predictions:
Miami: 50-32
Orlando: 47-35
Washington: 44-38
Atlanta: 40-42
Charlotte: 33-49

My gut tells me that Atlanta will do better than washington though, but that would be a bit bold.
