Dooling is our best PG right now
Anyone else agree? Dooling has really improved this year in my opinion. He's shooting confidently and making his shots, but more importantly is being selective in his shots and running the offense well. His defense is always solid, and right now the team is playing better with him running the show rather than Nelson or Arroyo.

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
I want to start off by saying i am a new member to Basketball Forums.
I think Dooling is in fact the best point we have right now, he gives everyhing he has on defense, and seems to be playing above average right now on offense. Nelsons head has not been in many of the games this season, it seems as if he is just there to play and get the game over with, and arroyo gave us nice minutes in the Pacers game but has yet to prove he can run the offense fluidly for a whole game.

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
A really frustrating game to watch. Almost as bad the Boston and Minnesota games, it's just simply a game they could've won had they not completely screwed themselves over. Toronton didn't hit a shot in the last 7+ minutes of the game and the Magic just kept bailing them out with handchecks with 2 seconds left on the shot clock, already in the bonus.

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
I was at the game last night and mentioned after the first quarter to my friend "we will find a way to lose" It was very frustrating to watch, especially in the fourth quarter, it seemed like Toronto got to the line every time, and it wasnt the officials fault, it was our stupid mistakes like not getting defensive rebounds.

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
Blowing more games with crappy second half (namely the 4th quarter) play. Put a lineup allout there that can close a game out. And I agree Dooling is the best option at the point. Jameer`s been playing like garbage, and Arroyo (despite the Indy game) is still just a high energy ballhog.

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
we need someone nasty on our roster. a big bruiser. all our guys are nice guys and clean cut. we need someone a la charles oakley to whip our boys into men. i think that's what we're really missing. not a dynamic SG or an upgrade at C... someone who will go postal on a guy for driving the lane.
we should sign earl boykins

Re: Dooling is our best PG right now
Its very odd that Jameer would be playing like this in a contract extension year.

Perhaps he's pressing, I don't really know. His confidence is way down though, and comments like "Jameer knows we expect more out of him" coming from the GM don't help.

thats the thing. Hes a tough guy. But at the same time, why cant the GM say those things. Todays players are coddled so much its sickening

I have no problem with the GM saying what he said, some guys respond to it and some don't. Some aren't really helped or harmed by it, I don't know. Jameer's not confident at all, that's the only thing I really know for sure.

but why is Jameer not confident?
i think the organization has really put their confidence in him, and they expected big things... he was beginning to prove that he could be a great PG during his rookie season, and even the year after... but he has almost begun to dissappear. There is no one behind him that is breathing down his neck (maybe keyon) but Hill likes using him at the 2... he HAD his chance, but now it's time to move on to another PG and i agree that Keyon is our best PG as of late... hopefully we continue to use him as a role player, but we need someone that can run our offense better and hit their open shots.
