Orlando Magic
How do you lose behind a guy who had 30 and 20??
Orlando had good cap space to surround Dwight Howard with some good players, but all they got was Rashard Lewis paying him a ludacris 21 mil a year. 21!!! Not even KG makes that much money. This team is a one man show. They have an absolute beast in Howard, but the rest of the team is chuckers. I know you guys think I'm just jumping on them because they lost today, but look at their game yesterday against Charlotte. They were gettting destroyed before Dwight Howard started making free throws. What was the rest of the team doing? Missing open 3 after open 3. They rarely even look for Dwight. Dwight gets almost all his points off garbage buckets. Dwight needs shooters, not chuckers. They shoudl've gotten Kapono or play Reddick more. When they're hitting their shots, they're a good team, but too much of their game is based on the outside shot. When they aren't hitting their shots, they get destroyed because they just keep shooting and shooting instead of just pounding it inside on a regular basis. Orlando will not be a top 3 seed in the east when its all said and done unless Dwight starts to average 40 and 25.

Re: Orlando Magic
You guys should try to trade for Corey Maggette IMO. A slasher would make this team elite. Actually, not just elite. More like dominant.

Re: Orlando Magic
you have to look at it from both sides of the story.
the outside shooting would make teams guard dwight honest and not double/triple/sag onto him.
if you cant hit your shots, they're going to double him.
it's SVG's philosophy obviously to have the team shoot from the outside to make the game easier for dwight. there's a reason he's coach and not us.
ps use spell-check and type with thoughts instead of one long paragraph with a million different subjects. thanks.

Since when was Orlando getting destroyed until Dwight started making free throws? Dwight was horrible from the line until Charlotte started fouling him on purpose BECAUSE THEY WERE BEHIND and that is when he hit the 7-8 free throws in a row. If you are going to post crap at least check your facts first.
Unfortunately for your last sentence and worthless prediction if Orlando wins their division they are a top 3 seed and right now the only team with a shot really at getting it over them is Washington. And I am guessing it won't take Dwight averaging 40 and 25.

I would love to get Maggette. I guess it would depend on what we'd have to give up to get him. But you are correct, we need at least one guy who is more of a slasher and Maggette is a master at doing that and getting to the free throw line. On occasion Jameer really attacks the basket and that is when Orlando really excels.
Before last season Orlando was trying to move up to get Brandon Roy ... too bad that didn't happen.

Re: Orlando Magic
If we had a decent GM we could have a real dynasty in Orlando...

Re: Orlando Magic
If Maggette takes his out, maybe he will take a small paycut to come to Orlando. That would be a big pickup for us next offseason, while also adding front court help in Battie and Fran.

Re: Orlando Magic
i would not expect maggette to walk away from money.
do we need a slasher more or another banger? specifically, maggette or wilcox?
seattle is looking to slash probably even more salary and we've got 3 great expiring contracts in Garrity, Arroyo and Dooling. a combination of 2 of the 3 and a secound round pick or fran vasquez should get us some immediate help.
