That's a fact. I've seen him get 300. He's an absolute physical specimen. You can see literally every muscle in the guys' body. He's solid as hell.

It is about time we got an athlete like that. I don't think there was really anyone better suited to go to this Orlando team than Gaines. I think we got exactly what we wanted and needed. Even Gaines said he wanted to go to Orlando and was afraid he was going to get picked sooner.

I saw that and I have to admit, I was VERY surprised and VERY happy with his interview. I am already getting excited about the possibilities for this new team! A lot of rookies, I know - so they're going to HAVE to blend in some VETERANS.

Don't you worry. I am SURE there will be plenty of good FA that want to play with T-Mac in Orlando. T-Mac is the biggest attraction as far as I'm concerned.

I have been that excited the past few offseasons, but this offseason I am a lot more mild mannered. There are honestly not a lot of big difference maker free agents available, and those that are are either out of our price range (Arenas, Oneal, Olowokandi, Brand) or are restricted and we might not be able to get them even if they want to come (Odom).
I was looking at the free agent list on nbadraft.net, and there aren't a lot of options at center or pg ... nor SF really .. all where Orlando needs options.
Hopefully they can pull some stuff off.
I think my dream scenario at this point would be signing Brad Miller and tendering an offer to Odom which the Clips do not match because they want to keep Brand and Maggette instead.
Then sign Jon Barry for the 1.5 mil exception.
PG Gaines/Armstrong/Bogans
SG Tmac/Barry/Sasser
SF Odom/Giricek/Garrity
PF Gooden/Pachulia
C Miller/Hunter/DeClerq
I think that is too many people (how many are allowed, including IR?) .. but owell ...
That would a great, flexible group. Tmac can play 2/3, Gaines can play 1/2, Bogans can play 1/2, Barry in emergency can play 1/2, Giricek can play 2/3, Odom can play 2/3/4, Garrity can play 3/4, and Miller, Pachulia, DeClerq can all play 4 and 5.
I think we should just cut Sasser, take the pay hit and give his roster spot to someone else. I'd like to take Sasser off that group above and add Kasun who can play 4/5 ..

Dee Bo, I believe it is 12 players plus 3 IR from my record. Perhaps I am wrong, but I doubt it.
Odom would be a fabulous pick up for the magic, and I believe possibly better than any of the big men that we need oh so much. A line-up of Gaines, McGrady, Odom, Gooden, Whoever could get us somewhere in the east. It has great size, and great versatility. Odom would be the perfect pick-up because he is young, and although he hasn't been on par lately, and not too much of a risk for the mid-exception at least. Of course, Sterling would be ludacris to not resign him for that much, but perhaps if Hill's exception is granted we can use part of it to spice up an offer for Odom. Odom isn't old like the bigmen available, and still has potential to be a star. As long as we can keep him off the drugs like Kemp...

Wait, Odom is a druggie? Forget that then. We don't need Kemp V2.0

Unfortunately those exception can't be used together or with other deals ... I believe if we were to go after Odom, it would be for the 4.8 exception and that is it. Which means Sterling would be a moron not to match that. Maybe Odom could convince him to be a nice guy and let him go, or maybe some kind of sign and trade, but I doubt it.

I would love to see Odom in a Magic uniform. It might save him and his career if he made it over to Orlando. He has got so much talent.
As for Sasser, he was a first round pick(Rolling eyes on that pick) and had the guaranteed contract of a first rounder. Isn't that a kicker?
12 active members and 3 on the IR is allowed, maybe they can stuff Sasser on the IR until his contract is up or trade him in a deal with someone else to get a PJ Brown or and Odom?
