One of two things ... one, hope by some miracle that he can come back and play NBA-level basketball. Even if he is a diminished form of himself, he would still make the team much better at SF. A future lineup of Gaines, Tmac, Hill, Gooden, Howard would be very formidable.

or two, make sure he does not play this season at all if they have any doubts, that way they can get relief from his maximum contract sooner. I believe if he plays in less than 15 games over a year period, they can get him off their books sooner.

Personally i'd love for the first to happen, but more than likely, it will be the second.

um, back to the thread, I love this team so much, I wish, since it seems he cant ever play again, that he would agree to retire, and you guys could trade his contract that is coming off the books for a player a la minnesota with Brandon, but they can get a better player because Hill makes more. It would reestablish order, put the best player in the eastern conference on the best team in the east

basically it is pray he returns to his former self (or near to), or buy out his contract.

As a Duke fan i wish nothing but luck for Grant Hill, the guy would have been great if he wouldnt have played with a broken ankle.

It would have been amazing to see Hill and Tmac getting to play together. I think they would have been to the Finals at least once already. Damned shame, real damned shame. Grant Hill was such a great player and the perfect wingman for a guy like Tmac.

They need to wait 2 years to drop him off their Salary cap, but they also would still need to pay him.
