Orlando Magic have interest in Rowan Barrett
While watching the Canada vs. Argentina game last night the announcers were indicating that Rowan Barrett of the Canadian National team is drawing interest from both the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons. Just wondering what some of the Magic fans view on this was? I being a Canadian would love to see a few more canucks in the NBA.

He was the 2nd leading scorer in the tournament of the america's through the round robin. He had an off night last night against Argentina though.

I saw him play in the Long Beach Summer Pro league and he looked very good, he can score and is athletic, easily the best player on Canadas team Nash didn't play

We could use a little more depth. I was hoping he would be a big man, but we could use another SG/SF to come off the bench that can score some points.
I think Orlando honestly misses Monty Williams.

orlando needs a guy on the wing who can play defense.. Tracy and Giricek will get torched.. they dont need more scoring..

Tmac is a very good defender and Giricek's defense was much better than I expected. Giricek's defense was lightyears ahead of Mike Miller's. They do need more scorers, as evidenced by the games vs Detroit. Once they clamped down on Tmac, no one else on the team stepped up to score.
The guy sounds like a pretty good athlete as well, which usually translates into at least a decent defender.

Athletic, and a bit of a slasher, but plays best when helped by a strong playmaking pointguard. Runs lanes well and gets open. When guys like Nash find him he's able to convert. But on a team without a nash or kidd, he's not nearly as effective.
