I was thinking this might be fun to write a combined horror story of some kind. Someone can start it out, then others can put in ideas and see what happens next, kind of like a read and chose your own story. However, you create the story as you go with multiple people.
Being alone forever
Being rejected
Snakes
Being around people that have no concept of reality and right and wrong.
Being in a car crash
Being in the woods in the dark
When someone hurts a girl
Someone close dying
Being blind
Being physically injuried, like a broken arm
Here are some ideas:
A male that gets rejected by a girl he likes, and then it goes from there.
Or a attractive girl, is evil, you got the sex appeal and you also got something that usually does not happen, women are not usually the villians in movies.
A story about the psychological mind of an adolescent and the amount of self-doubt and inner anguish that goes on.
The story is about an uncommon killer, it’s a girl.
Seductress:
The story starts out showing the killer being raped as a child. She was raped so badly that she can never have kids ever again. She was also beaten pretty badly so later in life, after years of torment in high school being the ugly girl, she gets plastic surgery to make herself look better. Well she gets out and looks amazing, big breasts, slim figure, is a true “beauty”. However because she was raped as a little child, she can never have a child of her own.
I have not figured this part of the story out yet, but something makes her snap, and want to injure males like they injured her. So with her great looks she goes into bars, sits there, waits to be hit on while wearing very revealing clothing, and then takes the man to a hotel. She has the man pay for all of it and then they go up to the room to have sex. Well they have sex, and then she makes the men she does this to put handcuffs on the bed so they can’t move. After sex, she takes out a bolt cutter and cuts off the testicles and penis of the man she just had sex with. She then leaves the man, with his mouth plugged to bleed to death and she puts the severed penis on the mans head.
She does this and the cops can’t find her because she dresses up differently everytime and no one can recognize her because they are at bars and there is no way to ID her. It shows how badly men want sex, and if any pretty face comes along, they will want sex no matter what.
There are more plot lines with her mentality and past I have not mentioned but that is the basis for another story I had in mind.
Yes these first two have just been about sex, but I think it’s a good topic because everyone is interested in it and honestly it drives a lot of the choices in our everyday lives. Also having a beautiful female killer is not very common so I think it could be a good idea.
The hard part about creating monsters is everyone sticks to the classic ones and does them over and over again.

These monsters all have mystic, history and a believe base. Everyone that grows up knows what these monsters are. If you could create a monster that is as widely famous as these are you would be set. But maybe the history and legend behind these monsters will mean it will be impossible to reproduce that same legend.
All of those monsters were in human form, all hand a head, arms and legs just like a human does, so thats obviously the way to go unless you are talking about the 'Alien'.
Vampire is a great idea, very classic and scary.
Its hard to have a monster not want to eat or kill you, because thats the main point of it and why it is scary.
The gargoyle might be something to explore. Only a cartoon has been made about gargoyles, so really its a fresh character as well. And with the animation we have now a days it would be possible to do.
The best part is that there is history behind the gargoyle as well. They are all over old buildings and they is something mystical about them as well and there is a history there to tap into.
A gargoyle is a prime character to make a monster out of I think, that would be huge. Gargoyles were ment to warding off evil.
In the cartoon, the gargoyles became real at night, that might be the way to take the story or movie because no one would pay to see stone statues just sit there.
Its a prime idea though, I think it would work, just have to think of a story behind it.
As soon as I saw gargoyles, I thought of a movie were the gargoyle must eat to stay alive -- but that was too much like Jeepers Creepers, and thats a big no no
Personally, I think movies with a deranged (human) killer are freakier. Being the scared little kid that I am, after I see a scary movie I always make myself calm with the "It's just a movie, theres no such thing as a Ring Girl". But I get more freaked out with big scary dudes killing people.
For the main character, you could have someone who looked like Kane -- or the prisoner in "Identity". By day, he's perceived as a somewhat different person but at night he is a messed up physco killer . (I got idea for Killer from Red Dragon) This actor would always wear a dark suit. Reminiscent of his wrestling brother, Undertaker in the Death Ages or whatever it was called
He could go around choosing his victims carefully, then raping them and killing them. I could imagine him butchering them up and sending them to the local police force, or sending them to relatives.
Then you could have the beautiful young FBI officer who is being stalked by Kane!
It's a mixture of a lot of horror movies, and with a bit of fine-tuning it could work.
*They come alive at night when everyone's asleep (and you can't see them to prove that they don't) so they can protect you when you're vulnerable.
*Better still, the ones with wings can fly round the whole area and cover the village or town as well as the church. (And if someone does see something, who's to say whether it was just a bat or one of the gargoyles on the wing?)
*They return to their places when the sun comes up (and no-one can prove that they weren't out and about, and no-one respectable who rises and sets with the sun is going to be mistaken by them for an enemy and be dealt with).
This picture made me thing of the possibility of having gargoyles be actual humans that were trapped into the side of a building for all time. Could go along the lines of having a evil wizard changing someone into a monster, and they have to make a choice, live forever or be changed back into a human, they chose live forever and they are trapped in stone. I think its a very good story that could be created.

The thing about that idea I dislike is that it is cliche' big time, its been done just so many times.
I am trying to think outside the box with these, some might not be but the big bad male killer, I think it has been done, almost to a extreme also. Just what I think.
How about Kane (I am calling the big freaky dude that) is a kind loving guy by day (or, at least we think that) (think John Coffee in Green Mile) but by night he's a terror gargoyle who picks apart little children

I think this would make a GREAT horror story, to a realistic true story type of movie about this guy, or a mythical character back in that time frame that did these surgeries. You would have to develop a relationship of the characters and the audience, but I think it would be very scary if properly done. Have all the historical buildings right, the procedures and everything right. Would have to study Lobotomies more but there is a ton of potential in this idea.

Its body was destroyed but its head and neck survived which was mounted on a building. This practice spread and La Gargouille perhaps creating the model for the gargoyles we see today. I don't know how exactly to connect the gargoyles to a story without having the actual gargolye be alive and able to move around. Could also take the plan of just flat out creating methodology about them.
Story is set in 1936, the begining of the lobotomy craze. The villian in the movie would be the doctor, it would show how they began with dogs and the effects they found. Then it would show the entire operation in as much detail as possible.
Over time the doctor becomes deranged and obsessed with this way of control and over does it, he performs thousands of lobotomies that destroyed thousands of lives.
During that time some of the local newspapers, and one young writer asks about lobotomies and tries to find the real truth behind it. Also a character that is a big part in the movie, gets in some trouble, is refered to this doctor and he gets a lobotomy as well.
The place would be very old, the scenery is key and the music is as well. Plus graphic images of the procedure, even having the instrument in the eye and then using the hammer.
Throughout the story the issues of morality and human kindess comes into play, and also what helps the story is the fact that this actually happened. 50,000 Americans a lot had this type of surgery done on them as a way to control their actions. And honestly, that means they legally killed 50,000 people because a human without a mind is not a human at all.
I would need to get more information on the subject but I think it would make a great story especially if the entire procedure was shown in its entirety. A common running quote that could be in the movie is 'a mind is the terrible thing to waste'. The doctor would need to be portrayed as evil but really its not that far off considering.
