LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Legendary coach John Wooden, who made UCLA the first name in college basketball, will have the school's court named after him - and his wife.
The court at Pauley Pavilion will be named "John and Nell Wooden Court" when the Bruins host Michigan State on December 20, UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said Monday.
Known as "The Wizard of Westwood," Wooden guided UCLA to 10 NCAA championships - including seven in a row - in the 1960s and 1970s. His first title came 40 years ago this upcoming season.
