Luke Jackson
I see him being an early second rounder, even a first rounder if there are fewer int'l players declaring. I'm hoping my Heat can get him early in the second round.
To get to my point, does anyone else here see Luke as a solid 6th man for around 15 years in the league? He seems to have all the tools except the explosiveness.

Nope
I don't see Luke Jackson playing 5 years in the NBA much less 15. He's basically Jason Kapono 2. I think Jason Kapono will flame out in the League like a cigarette at a Mormon picnic. Neither of these guys have the athleticism to even come close to being able to stick with NBA 3s. Can these 2 do anything on offense (in the NBA, that is) besides shoot long jumpers? That's a nice skill, and it will let these guys play for a couple of years tops, but look at the other guys in the League who have the same skillset: their teams are always looking to replace them.
I don't think the Heat are really looking to spend a draft pick on the next Dan Langhi.

Luke is ok, but he will have to prove he can carry the team. Remember in 2002 he deferred to Freddie Jones and in 2003 he deferred to Luke Ridnour. HE needs to step it up and lead the Ducks to the top of the Pac-10.

Are you kidding me? To equate Luke Jackson with Jason Kapono is absurd. Luke Jackson is an explosive athlete who can run the floor, create shots on his own, and finish around the hoop. He also rebounds and passes the ball well. Did you see his game at UCLA last year? He was all over the place with something like 28 points. I also saw him close up at Pepperdine last year. He threw down about 5 impressive dunks, one of which was a fantastic reverse jam where he just exploded to the hoop.
Jackson is way more athletic than most fans realize. The boy has game. He will be POY in the Pac this year and a mid-first rounder in the NBA draft.

Jackson will go somewhere in the middle of the first round and will be good in the NBA. He's far more athletic then Kapono, and far more athletic than he's given credit for. He's also great at the long bombs.
Great board btw!

I do not see him going that high. A good player in college doesn't translate into a good player in the NBA. Look at Dan Dickau, owned college, was drafted at the tail end of first round, and barely gets 6 minutes a game. And he was a first team All American. And L:uke Jackson is nowhere near that good. And Pac10 POY, give me a break, that is just absurd, please look at more than 2 teams rosters to amke your decision.

Jackson is another Kapono? I guess they are both white...........
Jackson has a well-rounded game. He had a triple double as a true freshmen in a Pac Ten game! He averaged 16 pts, 7 rbs and 3.6 ast a game last year despite playing with an injured hand and playing second fiddle to Ridnour. If he puts up bigger numbers this year (which he should) then he will defiantly be in the running for POY and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t have a CLUE about Pac Ten ball.
BTW Ike at ASU would be my pick for player of the year but anyone who is first team Pac Ten will be in the running for it and LJ should be first team all conference.

Luke isnt even as close to being as terrible as Kapono..
Kapono is a white guy with a headband that runs off screens. It would be nice if he could do anything else on a basketball court.
Jackson kind of reminds me of a more athletic Luke Walton. He cant pass as well as Walton, but he can get up and down the floor better. He has that all around type of game that Walton does.

I don't see him as all-around as a walton...but I do think he can find a decent role if he lengthens his shooting range.....
