2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
Let's start this recruiting thread with a possible commitment.
Per Dave Telep, Cedric Hankerson has committed to BU. Hankerson (SG) also had offers from Minn, Ok State, Va Tech, and Penn. In addition to averaging 23 pts/10 rbs, he scored a 1750 SAT and 25 ACT. Great get for BU, methinks. High major talent and good in the classroom. Couldn't have asked for anything more. |

Re: 2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
AU got a 2013 commitment Sunday from Yilret Yiljep, a 6-8 forward from Westtown (PA) HS. Big pickup for us! Had been offered by Temple and LaSalle and had interest from several PL schools. He visited over the weekend and committed this morning. He originally was not interested in AU, but after researching the school found it fit several of his needs, and the visit confirmed his thoughts. Yilret is our third 2013 commit, joining guards Jalen Rhea and Kade Kager.

Bucknell, Lehigh, American, and Boston University heading in one direction...Holy Cross, Lafayette, Colgate, Army, and Navy heading in another. Look for Jimmy Patsos to have Loyola in the first category, although he will have a lot of trouble recruiting with the AI.

Re: 2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
AU completed a very productive offseason Tuesday when the Eagles got a 2013 commitment from point guard Dallas Cameron, a rising 6-3 senior from Blanche Ely (FL) High School. Cameron's team won the Florida 7A state championship last season. He visited AU about a week and a half ago and chose AU over Jacksonville, North Florida and Stetson, with interest from Murray State, Yale, Cornell and Rider. Cameron is viewed as a defensive specialist with an emerging offensive game, and is a strong floor leader.
Cameron is our fourth 2013 commitment, joining guards Jalen Rhea and Kade Kager, and forward/center Yilret Yiljep, who committed to AU on Sunday. The Eagles also brought in transfers Austin Carroll (Rutgers), who has been cleared to play this season, and point guard Darius Gardner (Stephen F. Austin), who will be eligible to play next year. In addition, senior big man Stephen Lumpkins returned to AU after leaving the program last year to pursue a baseball career as a pitcher for the Royals. After struggling in his attempts to become a relief pitcher for KC, Lumpkins left the Royals' farm system and came back to AU to get his degree. He will be a walk-on this season. The future is very bright for the Eagles! |

Plays like Dwyane Wade in the video, although I've read he plays more like Joe Johnson. |

Re: 2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
Head Coach Joe Jones made a home visit to 6'7" PF Rodney Williams (VA). According to Williams' twitter the visit "was great". This was an amusing tweet:
Rodney Williams @YeahRod24 Micheal Jordan came to my house lol!!! #CoachJones #BostonU Like if he looks like MJ!?! http://instagram.com/p/PvIsGjw5b6/ Last edited by Majestic Mapp; 09-20-2012 at 12:34 PM. |

Re: 2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
Loyola has two commitments for 2013 so far...
6'7 forward Lavon Long who spent his first three years at Mount St. Joseph in Baltimore but will be a senior at Oakland Mills this season. Versatile, big lefty. Has been working on his all-around game. 6'3 shooting guard Maurice White from St. Frances (Baltimore). Reasonably athletic slasher / defender. |

Re: 2013 Patriot League Recruiting Thread
Not much recruiting news lately, but I found this bit about BU's commit.
http://www.rmfmag.com/portfolio-item...ric-hankerson/ It appears to be written by him and he provides a lot of details why he chose BU. Interesting stuff. |

PS - you know you are getting older when you refer to a recruit as a young man.
