KenPom: American - 311 BU - 213

American has been streaking as of late winning 5 of their last 6 before getting their doors blown off against Lehigh on Saturday. The last time we played American we had a poor shooting night from the three point and free throw lines so I hope that those are two areas we can improve on this time around. Blaise had a big game last time and hopefully Dieudonne can keep putting up strong games like he has.

A couple of important player additions that could change the face of the matchup on Wednesday. For BU, Eric Johnson had 24 minutes the last go around which will not be the case this go around and Cheddi Mosely was injured. On the American side, Delante Jones will not be suspended for American and he has been averaging 15 ppg in the last 5 games. I think this game might be closer than the last go-around but I also think that we are playing better and would give us an edge at home.

I thought the first game was closer than the final score. Midway into the second half, AU started to play better but a missed wide open, point-blank layup stopped the momentum and the Eagles didn't threaten after that.

I like our chances too, but AU has been playing like a different team and super frosh Jones might be a game changer. If BU gets a hot start, that would be huge. Try to make the Eagles play catch-up.

Looking forward to this one. I actually didn't think the first game was that close, and that the tight score through 25 minutes was a bit misleading -- AU had some things bounce their way (buzzer beater before the half) and thought BU controlled the game throughout.

Either way, AU is indisputably better at this point in the season, with their full complement of players they will be tough.

I like our chances at home if our guys keep up the energy they've shown recently.

BU goes into the half 41-29. Fanning has continued his outstanding play of late. The team is playing great D on AU as well, although giving up too many offensive rebounds.

Hopefully Nate's injury isn't serious, we can't really afford to lose anyone else.

41-29 at half. We caught a little bit of luck at the end with American fouling Mosely on a three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left. Our shooting performance has been unreal this game, though our defensive rebounding has left a lot to be desired. My main hope is that Dieudonne is okay though.

After a tense few minutes, BU has pulled away and they're gonna win this one. Really good to see the Terriers step on an opponent's throats when they're leading late for once.

Where were their guards who were doing all the scoring in the first half - Jones and Reed? Why did AU continue to go into the paint on every possession? BU quickly learned how to stop that every time.

Very happy that they were able to carry on without Nate but it won't be as easy against a team with more of an inside presence.

Is there some rule about not asking about injuries for student athletes? The obvious question to ask was Dieudonne's status in the interview with Shaun Morris >.<.

Nate was on the bench most of the 2nd half cheering the team but not jumping up or anything.

It was a bit scary that we only scored 5 points for the first 11 minutes or so of the second half, but thankfully we picked it back up.

The American coach was pretty damn pissed off late in the game. Then he had his team playing defense and fouling while down 16 with a minute something left. Pretty lame.

Very impressive win, especially considering how little we got out of Nate and Nick. Blaise and Haines made a few plays to keep the lead and Kyle/Cheddi/Fanning dropped the hammer. Kyle's layup and foul was a big time play. I want to think the hot outside shooting is unsustainable, but the Terriers have been doing this against good defenses. Maybe our guys are getting comfortable.

I liked the defensive effort. The team did very well to get hands into passing lanes and deflections, especially Foreman. Other than a few backdoor baskets in the first half, BU defenders stayed in front of their man and the help defense made things difficult. Jones is going to be a very good player for AU. Looks like he can do a little bit of everything.

Nate shuffled right by me after the game. He put zero weight on his injured ankle. It didn't look terribly confidence inspiring re: his future availability.

On the plus side, I've been pretty happy with Blaise's game lately. It's a drop off for sure, but I like both that he brings something unique to the table (blocks) and has been much better about avoiding bad fouls. And if we go to a small ball lineup, I've got to think Fanning will absolutely blow by the average Patriot league PF.

In the postgame audio, Coach Jones briefly talked about the injuries.

Nate - He has no idea how long he will be out. I don't think it's a season-ender, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a few weeks to get back to full speed.

Goff - No timetable.

Eric Johnson - Maybe a week or two.
