Recent video of Walter. He is the focus of the first minute. His game reminds me of Brandon Roy's.

Re: Walter Whyte: I concur. He's a hell of a pickup considering all the MMs that were in on him, and that had been for a while. Congrats.

Other WW-related items for today. Author doesn't know about the Mathon commitment.

Recruiting doesn't stop. RDC is a 6'3" guard who also has offers from NJIT and Manhattan.

Interesting, I wonder what that means for Myles Franklin. Looks like he RDC is prepping at South Kent this year after missing half of his senior year with a facial fracture. Loyola (before Luke Johnson committed), Vermont, NJIT and BU are the ones that have expressed recent interest. The Manhattan offer appears to be before he got injured his senior year.

I'm not closing the book on Franklin just yet. AC Morris made the effort to go to CA and Myles reciprocated by visiting Boston, so there must have been a strong mutual interest. Perhaps he just wants to see all of his options.

Or maybe he waits too long and RDC ends up being a better fit...

These things usually work themselves out.

I appreciate that his coach's first comment is about how good a defender he is

Re: 2017 Recruiting

Taj Benning to Fairfield and Greg Eboigbodin to UIC. Miles Brookins, our only other big reported offer took an official visit to La Salle recently as well. I think it's virtually assured at this point that we go PG/SG/Walter Whyte/Suhkmail Mathon unless we scout the transfer wire for a player, which I would be fine with.

Re: 2017 Recruiting

Another Whyte article. Second story.

http://www.hoopseen.com/news/special...ags-trio-stars

The author, Corey Evans, calls Whyte "an elite glue guy", which leads me to my theory about his recruitment. Despite having several higher offers, I think WW shunned them because they only wanted him to be a glue guy. Considering his final five or six were not the highest level programs, I would not be surprised if this was the truth.

Whyte has been described as a late-bloomer, so the best basketball lies ahead of him. At BU, maybe he will have extra motivation to prove he is more than just a fourth option. Whatever the case I am glad he will be a Terrier.

Re: 2017 Recruiting

Some video of Whyte with his AAU team. In this situation it's tough not being the fourth option when you have two five-star teammates and a few four-star teammates, one who just committed to Arizona today. Walter's part starts at 1:32.

This caps off a superb class from Northeastern, disappointing for us.

Re: 2017 Recruiting

From out of nowhere...Javante McCoy, a 6'3" PG from TX has committed to BU!

Other offers include Lafayette, Colgate, NU, Fordham, Yale, and San Francisco.
http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/javante-mccoy

From this highlight video his game looks very much like Myles Franklin's - tall, skinny PGs and multi-skilled.
http://www.hudl.com/video/3/3432603/...a53e2a1881256e

And McCoy isn't a consolation prize; he was starting to demand a lot of attention. In the last three months he racked up 10+ offers, including interest from Stanford.

I really like this pick-up because it ensures good point guard continuity. Javante will have a couple of years to play with Foreman while developing his body. He is also tall enough to slide to SG in two PG lineups. I also would have said the same exact thing if Franklin committed, so it will be interesting to see how they both develop.

Good job Coach Jones and staff. Welcome to BU, Javante!
