Hi, Philly Phans. I'm a Blazers fan, and I was wondering what the feeling is about Eric Snow and Aaron McKie. Are they still the "heart and soul" of the 76ers, or is the team looking to move them? (If so, is it because they're washed up? They seem to be pretty injury-prone.)

Would you consider the following trades that work according to RealGM (# in parenthese is years remaining on contract):

Aaron McKie (4) for Ruben Patterson (3)

Rationale: you need a SF more than a 2G now you have Iguolada, the Blazers have a glut of SFs.

or

Snow (5), McKie (4) and Coleman (2) for Derek Anderson (3) and Patterson (3)

Thinking: you could start Anderson with Iverson, with both as "guards" (DA can play a little point) and have Iguolada back up both. You get younger and dump some long term contracts.

Thoughts?

Iguolada is going to play SF, and start, if O'Brien has any sense in him. We want Iverson to do his thing and Iguolada to be a trash man, at least for now. We don't need any more small fowards or shooting guards. We'll take one of the two, but not both. Offer us a center.

Actually, that wouldn't be bad because we get rid of two long term contracts and get a quality big man in return that would do well in the East especially next to Dalembert because Dale is much bigger and more of a bruiser than Sam. Maybe if the Blazers threw in a second round pick it could be possible.

Honest opinion? If you're John Nash, and I'm Billy King, that first trade is done before I can put the phone down. Dale Davis not only provides the dirty work low post type player the Sixers are looking for off the bench, he also has an expiring contract. Imagine that, losing Snow and McKie's long term deals for a deal that comes off the books next summer!

That would be a dream come true. The Blazers would be picking up two character guys, one being a mentor for Telfair and another guy who will take whatever minutes are given to him. Though I doubt this is a trade that would happen.

I'd also trade McKie straight up for Patterson, because of Patterson's defense, and the fact we're losing a year of contract in transition between he and McKie. Also I think Patterson could thrive in pretty much the same role Eric Williams played for O'Brien, except he's not as good a three point shooter. And of the deals, I think this is one that's probable, since neither team could probably get more value for either player.
