Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Billy King announced today that the Sixers have waived guard Nate James. The Sixers roster stands at 16 players.
A 6-foot-6, 200 pound guard, James played in the Sixers preseason opener against Washington (10/12), finishing with four points in seven minutes. James, a 2001 graduate of Duke University, signed with the 76ers as a free agent on Oct. 4, 2004.

No surprise here, the next cut will be Kirk Haston, and then the team's 15 players will be set, unless someone is released from another team.
Currently the Raptors are fighting over the idea of whether or not to keep 15 guys on the roster because with the Maple Leafs not playing this year they don't even want to take the risk of paying minimum contracts. One of the guys who might get released by the Raptors is Pape Sow, who is a nice prospect (albeit raw) who I'd love to use a roster spot on, especially if we could get him for two seasons.
