What should be the Sixers starting lineup on opening night?
Five games are down in the preseason, and as fans all we know for sure about the starting lineup is that Allen Iverson is going to start at PG, everything else is up in the air.
So knowing that I was curious to see who people felt should be in the starting lineup be it based on their preseason play, their style of play, or your personal preference.
Given the Sixers new found depth this season, at each position there's several players who are competing for a starting spot, and I have them listed below.
C: Samuel Dalembert, Brian Skinner, Marc Jackson.
PF: Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson.
SF: Glenn Robinson, Andre Iguodala, John Salmons.
SG: Willie Green, Aaron McKie, Andre Iguodala, John Salmons.

C: Dalembert
PF: Thomas
SF: Robinson
SG: Iguodala
PG: Iverson
I feel that Willie Green would be better off as a sixth man who gets starter type minutes.

If he's on the injured list, we're going to struggle because we need his scoring badly this season.

He'll get a lot more help on the defensive end this year than last, and the fact that he's giving more effort on defense is a good sign. He'll never be a great defender, maybe never even decent, but he should be adequate in this system.

Don't get too psyched over iguadala yet, most younger players do great in the preseason, and then are inconsistent in the regular season. He'd be better off coming in and going all out for 10-15 minutes.
PG Allen Iverson
SG Willie Green
SF Glenn Robinson

Four starting spots seem fairly secure for the Sixers.
Forwards Glenn Robinson, Kenny Thomas and guard Allen Iverson are all but guaranteed of being in the opening-night lineup Nov. 3 at Boston. Samuel Dalembert is the likely starter at center.
But the fifth position is up in the air.
Head coach Jim O'Brien won't say who is the leading the race to start opposite Iverson in the backcourt.
The three candidates appear to be Willie Green, rookie Andre Iguodala and John Salmons. O'Brien has taken turns praising all three at different times during the preseason.
Green, who was the logical choice going into training camp, has struggled from the floor in the Sixers' five preseason games. He has hit just 13-of-39 shots (33.3 percent) and averaging 7.6 points in making two starts.
"We're still trying to work out the kinks," Green said. "The rotations with the different players are getting closer to what they will be like in a real game."
Iguodala has been a pleasant offensive surprise, in addition to being an active defender. After missing a runner at the end of regulation, his 3-pointer in overtime was the difference in Thursday's 97-95 win over the Spurs. He finished with 13 points and four rebounds in 29 minutes at San Antonio, pushing his preseason average to 6.4 points and his field goal percentage to 50 (11-for-22).
"Andre does some good things," O'Brien said. "He's a guy who does the little things."
Iguodala, who has been on the court late in virtually every game, appreciates getting an opportunity to be a factor down the stretch.
"I was glad coach gave me the opportunity to take that shot near the end of (regulation)," said Iguodala, who has one start. "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to knock it down.
"Right now, I just want to keep showing that I want the ball. I'm getting used to playing with these guys and getting better at finding their spots on the floor. I'm feeling more confident."
Salmons, who hasn't started a game yet, contributed 10 points off the bench in 17 minutes Thursday. He is averaging 7.3 points and shooting 10-for-17 (58.8 percent).
As for Aaron McKie, O'Brien seems to prefer using him in a reserve role.

I put this here because this writer feels that four of the five spots are locked up, and the one that isn't is in his opinion the Center spot.

You got me, I whiffed here. I was paying more attention to the college football games that were on than the article itself.
Still valid to the discussion though.
